Had this on tap, in a snifter, at Perrercorn's next to the brewery. Somebody added this beer to this website stating it is 100 I.B.U.'s but it is 120 I.B.U.'s and 8.5% A.B.V.

Brewed with an abundance of hops. Emphasizing Amarillo, Horizon, Summit, and Glacier hops with support from 5 other American varieties. Hops were added in every conceivable part of the brewing process. Whole leaf in the mash, hop forwarded (lautered through whole cones), hop backed, first wort hopped, kettle hopped with pellets and extract, and dry hopped in the fermenter and brite tanks.

I was expecting it to be overwhelming but it was pretty well balanced. Certainly citrusy, with a short lasting white head, it was your standard orange/copper color. The alcohol was well hidden and the body was more thin than I would have thought. But overall, a very good offering of the style.

Appearance: 1/2 inch head, medium carbonation, dark-copper in color, cloudy

Smell: citrus fruits, pineapple, pine

Taste: very citrusy: pineapple, and grapefruit blend well with a nice malty backbone. Touch of pine.

Mouthfeel: medium body, sweet with a bitter middle and end, moderate carbonation

Overall: Not as hoppy and bitter as I would have thought. This is actually a well balanced beer with a good deal of citrus taste. A good imperial IPA, but there are others I would turn to first.

Orangey honey colored and slightly hazed with a thick and frothy, lumpy head of white foam that settles out slowly, leaving thick sheets up the sides of the glass. Big aroma of grapefruit and tangerine, hints of pine.

Big citrusy flavors right upfront, grapefruit rind, pine tangerine, and orange pith. Citrus stays long and heavy on the pallet. Honey malt rides beneath, but the hops really dominate.

Even mouthfeel, slightly tannic, finishes tingly. Really good beer overall. Only criticism is that the use of many hop varieties and adding them at every possible step in the brew process creates an onslaught of hop power that can be a bit one-dimensional. But that onslaught can also be pretty tasty.

Hey! First review, bear with me.

Wormtown struck gold on this one. Picked it up in Somerville, MA at the great Downtown Wine and Spirits. (Home of a huge host of fantastic beers.)

Just popped it open.
The nose is just fantastic. Citrus, hops, and bright fruit on the nose.
Taste: Heavenly. Bright, acidic, hoppy, smooth, and bold on all parts of the tongue. The beer actually opened up like a wine as we drank it. It seemed to get smoother and smoother as we went.
It's got a ton of hop character, but is still an incredibly refreshing and easy to drink beer.

I loved it. I'll be on the look out for it again.

A - Beautiful orange/peach coloring to the body, with a nice, thick head. The coloring reminds me of those Haribo Gummi peaches. After a few sips, the lacing became quite pronounced.

S - Wow. The label boasts "Hops were addd in every conceivable part of the brewing process" and it sure does smell like it. Very fruity, like mango and strawberries give the aroma a huge boost.

T - Very impressive double IPA right here... there's a sweetness here that mixes well with the hops and gives it a significant fruit flavor. Vanilla tones, too.

M - THe sugariness stays with you, but overall balance of hops is very well done.

O - Get ready for a great IPA here, and if you're on the hunt for one with a fruity edge, look no further. I really enjoyed this beer and would recommend it to any fan of double IPAs.

22oz. poured into a Shaker Pint. Bottled in April 2013.

A- Straw hay color, almost clear, slightly hazy, thick 2 finger white head that lasts a while.

S- Massive amounts of grapefruit, tropical fruit, and even a good amount of guava. Intoxicating.

T- Piney, more tropical fruit, not as much grapefruit as on the nose, a little pineapple in the finish. Very nice bitter backbone, stands up to the intense aroma and fruit forward flavor. Not much other than base malt in the flavor. Alcohol is very elusive. Scary at 8.5%.

M- Refreshing, resinous, bubbly, crisp. Everything I love about DIPAs.

O- I love the Wormtown "Be Hoppy" IPA, and I had high hopes for this beer as well. Let me tell you; I was blown away by this. What a fantastic hop offering to the gods. Great beer, great flavor!
