Tap at peppercorns. Brewed as a test batch for the holidays, similar recipe to Wintah brown but with spices added, mostly ginger, with some clove and other holiday spices.

Nice creamy looking 1/2 finger head in the pint glass fades at a med pace with some decent lacing, murky maroon brownish colored beer.

Nose the ginger comes right out, as well as clove, and maybe other spices like nutmeg and cinnamon or allspice but hard to tell. Under that is a nice toasty malty brown malt aroma, hint of caramel and nutty malts, and just a bit of grassy hops, maybe a touch of syrupy toffee molasses.

Taste starts with a nice malty brown ale, light toffee, some biscuit, nutty malts, nice toasted flavors, etc. Then spices, again plenty of ginger both candied like and gingerbread cookie, with the light biscuit and toasty nutty toffee candy malts def gives the gingerbread cookie profile. Other light spices like clove, maybe hint of allspice and cinnamon again. Light doughy malt in there with mild but fair sweetness. It also brings light grassy hops, and a touch of a darker malt that I can't put a finger on. Finish is fairly dry but a bit sticky, mild bitterness, nice lingering spices with plenty of ginger and other Xmas like spices, nice light toasty brown malts and more gingerbread cookie lingering for a while.

Mouth is med to slightly fuller bodied, nice carb, the spices get a bit spicy.

Overall quite nice, good beer profile with the nice winter spices, especially nice gingerbread cookie taste. Mild grassy earthy hop bitterness adds a nice touch, and hops balance. A nice winter beer, although hard to drink more than one pint.
