Tap at Peppercorns... beat me again, Rudzud!

Fluffy almost 1 finger head in the snifter, light lacing, murky pink grapefruit reddish color.

Nose quite bitter, hoppy as hell, little earthy, some citrus and light tropical fruit, almost guava and tangerine like, juicy fruity, with some sweet malty base.

Taste big hops, bitter slightly resinous, light musty, earthy and a little piney. The fluffy soft hops come in somehow, with light grassy noble like, and hint of citrus, not really and tropical fruit. Somehow the flavors seems other end of the spectrum from aromas. Strong and bitter. Then malts, sweet malts with faint caramel try to balance but don't quite make it. Finish is drier and quite bitter, long bitter earthy chewy but not really spicy or astringent somehow, light citrus and very light fruity hop lingering.

Mouth is fuller bodied, decent carb, faint warming booze that is mostly drowned by the sweet malts and bitter hops.

Overall pretty nice, a mixed bag, hops are different on the nose and flavor, but somehow still nice, good balance of malty sweetness, bitterness, and booze but still smacks you in the face with hops.

This beer was brewed in collaboration with North Hampton and Amherst breweries. Comes in at 110 IBUs. According to one of the brewers this primarily uses Chinook hops (which adds about 90 IBUs), Meridian, and El Dorado hops.

A - Poured into a standard pint glass a slightly hazy golden yellow hue with notes of deep orange in the center. A good quarter inch head fades to leave a thin blanket and nice lacing.

S - Aromas of nice wet almost dank definitely Chinook hops. Good citrus grapefruit rind along with nice light malts, and almost bubblegum tropical notes. A brief flash, but a very pleasant one.

T - Taste is very...unique. Well, part of it. Let me explain. Start is pleasantly hoppy with nice dank hops, light grapefruit, sweet malts, and then an interesting bubblegum....and light melon flavor. Yes, melon. Finish, for the IBUs, is incredibly not bitter. I mean, its bitter but not overly so. Really neat.

M - Mouthfeel is quite pleasant for a dipa. Super drinkable with nice sharp crispness.

O - Overall I was quite pleased with this collaboration. Been looking forward to trying it. Like the use of the hops the brewers selected. Really adds some uniqueness to a typical dipa.
