I've stopped into this location a few times to pick up things that are hard or nearly impossible to find at Binny's. Generally speaking, the prices at this store are slightly lower than other stores in the area.
Nice selection of domestic beer, the import beer selection is not as big as other stores. Running along side the shelves is a refrigerated section that is well stocked.
The owner of the store is very friendly and not pushy at all. I know he makes an effort to try and pick up all limited releases.
Occasionally there are craft tastings at this store.
Saved the best for last, it is not unusual to find a good selection of Three Floyd's offerings here when they seem to nearly impossible to find at other stores in the area.

My quick review:
Great place, often impressive and surprising selection, and the owner is very personable and willing to talk. The two beer tastings I've been to have introduced me to great new beers as well. My only warning would be this: Watch your freshness dates. Because I wasn't being vigilant enough, I ended up buying a six pack of beer this spring (2011) that had a "do not drink after July of 2010" date on the bottles, and I once took a six pack back because it tasted a bit skunky. The owner was very willing to replace the skunky six pack, and even exchanged it for two bombers that were more (in total) than the original six pack. Go here. You will be pleased (just watch those dates).

Finally stopped in the other day. Used to shop the store that was on Route 83 before it was bought by Binny's. Assume this is the same ownership/family.
Decent sized store, no frills, but well laid out. Long shelves that run the length of the store, with an aisle in the middle. Good selection, as others have noted. Again, not as big as Binny's, but I did find a few items that Binny's doesn't carry. Smallish import, mostly belgian and german, good craft selection.
Staff in the store were attentive, willing to help, and very friendly. Prices were on par with my local Binny's in Plainfield, or slightly less on most beer. I'll have to make a point to stop in more often. Well worth the trip.

For the Shorewood area, this is as good as it gets. The owner is great. Went to a beer tasting last month. Had 5 stations set up with about 40-50 beers. They had some Great Lakes and Wicked Bitch as well as some other tasty samples available from 2-6. The owner is definitely trying to have a nice selection of micro beers.
The location is a hindrance to it thriving. It is located near the Target store off of Route 59 and Black Road. If you are looking for a nice selection with a pleasant experience, this is your place.

Great place, not too much in the area besides Binny's and this place actually beats them on price with a lot of products. Mario (The Owner) will order anything for you as long as it's sold in Illinois. Typical micro selection (FFF, Bells, Goose Island, etc.) along with the not so typical, plus a vast array of hard to find local stuff and a huge import selection. About three cooler doors are devoted to only micros with a section that features current seasonal beers. I've since been to a couple beer tastings (usually Saturdays 3-6) and had a chance to try Alpine - Exponential Hoppiness that was actually shipped directly from the brew pub in a growler!
Overall - Stop by and check them out if you live in the area (or even if you don't), I'm pretty much a regular now and love to see new stuff on the shelf every week.

Stopped at this Armanettis store to check it out today, and found it to be a quality stop for beer. It was a high-ceilinged warehouse type place, cooler doors running on the left hand wall, with a long aisle of beer facing the coolers. It was brightly lit, clean, with no dusty bottles to speak of.
Noticed the fresh Flossmoor IPA bombers first thing, also Jolly Pumpkin, Founders, several Goose Is. reserve series bombers. Noticed the Crown Valley line, and about 6-8 different craft cans like Ska, Southern Star, and Paddy Pale from a local brewpub. Imports were further back on the next section of the aisle, and seemed to be a bit more general in scope. Weihenstephaner, Celebrator, Chimay, Duchesse, Petrus Aged Pale, and others. Toward the back there were some truly odd Euro import bottles like "Before-After Triple Bock" a 12% Lithuanian Doppelbock, Viru (flower vase bottle), and "Fat Dragon", among others.
There was a good amount of craft in the coolers, but it would be nice to see more space devoted, given the large amount of space they have. I noticed the windows were slightly tinted to block UV rays. The cashier was friendly, and mentioned they just had a Mexican beer tasting with a mariachi band and tacos. They also have hosted BA's here at past tasting events, so extra points there.
Overall a good place to find craft beer in an area where there's not much else.

I visited this place for the first time the other day and was very pleased with what I experienced.
A bit of a challenge to find the first time, but this place had lots of parking right out front. Upon entering, the beer is straight ahead and down the left hand side of the store. The craft stuff is toward the front and the macro BMC stuff is way in the back. Very nice.
Selection was decently good. Not Binny's good, but aside from that superstore this is the next best thing in the area. All the expected Midwest microbreweries were well represented (Bell's, FFF, Goose Island, Great Lakes, etc) as well as the sexier stuff from across the country that gets distributed to Illinois (Stone, Allagash, Green Flash...). I was very surprised and happy to see some seasonal release stuff that had sold out of other stores ages ago just sitting there on the shelf. I scored some Goose Island Juliet on my visit.
Service was friendly. Nobody bothered me while I was browsing but the guy who rang up my beer asked me lots of friendly questions about whether or not I found everything and did I know about their beer tastings.
Overall this is a great little store that is just a bit closer to my house than the Binny's in Plainfield. I will definitely go back and shop here some more!

I have been stopping in here since the shop opened-- the owner told me he wanted to carry a lot of craft beer. And he is certainly making an effort. He gets in new stuff almost every week, and most of it is based on requests.
The owner, Mario, has told all his distributors that he wants EVERY seasonal and limited release. Of course, that is easier said than done, but he manages to land most of them.
As for prices... He beats binny's on about 70% of his stuff (at least in beer - I haven't shopped his wine or liquor prices). Another 25% his price matches binny's, and that last 5% is slightly higher (usually 50 cents to $1 more)- but I chalk that up to working out new deals with new distributors... it is a new shop after all.
So far I have had him order me 4 or 5 different beers... They all came in reasonably quickly and were priced at the cheapest I've seen.
I stopped in last weekend for his first beer tasting, and it was
smooth. Bell's, two brothers, lagunitas', capital, and dark horse were all represented (among others). I look forward to more, and plan on helping him get a bigger crowd by adding them to the events on our beloved site.
Overall-- good shop. Getting better. Excellent owner.
EDIT-- so the store has now done dozens of tastings and they are always a blast. Mario also took my advice and added a rack of singles to allow people to mix-n-match a 6 pack.
This is the store I hit up for all my off the shelf needs-- and as an added bonus, I get to grab the more limited releases as well.
This shop has improved its score in my book.

This is now the closes liquor store to my house! They opened up about 2 months ago. I had my first chance to go in lastnight and meet one of the owners. Very nice guy that lives locally! The store is very big and clean! He was very helpful and answered all my questions. They dont have the biggest selection yet but he knows the craft beer seen is growing. He told me if i wanted something I didnt see to let him know and he would order it. So I did and he took my phone number! They also have alot of wine and spirts to offer. They have wine tastings once a month, and he said they are going to start beer tastings. Prices were resonable and fair.
