Went here on a Sunday night with my wife in March 2014.
Easy enough to find and was greeted by a friendly bartender standing behind a couple dozen taps of their own brews. I tried a couple and they were pretty good, took home a 2L plastic pop bottle of the Tasman Lager for 20$ and enjoyed it. Somewhat normal pub but everything was new and clean, a few tables inside where we sat but the courtyard was packed. Live music on this night with some chick playing acoustic guitar and she was pretty good, mellow covers but set the mood quite well. I had a burger and wait fir it.... a poutine, something you don't see everyday outside of Canada. Our food was decent and no real complaints otherwise, perhaps a little pricey but everything seems to be expensive in NZ. At the end of the day I'd go back for sure and I thought they were great for a chain.

From my visit back in October 2009.

Small inviting place, nice music, and a simple and classy layout.

Quality is quite solid, very tasty, with mostly session worthy beers. The three I tried were all good, and I happily drank full imperial pints of everything I ordered.

Service was great, super friendly, and very happy to pour tasters of whatever I wanted for no charge.

Selection was outstanding, 18 different house brews! And a big varied selection too, I had a Scotch Ale, a Lager, a Pale Ale, and even tried an nice interesting cider.

Food was good, a bit on the spendy side, but I really enjoyed the hot dog I had. Beer prices were pretty much inline with everywhere else I have had quality beer in New Zealand.

Highly recommended spot in the great town of Nelson. I visited twice during my 3 day visit.
