22 oz bottle poured into a weizen glass.
A - Pouring pale yellow in color with a trace of haziness, this beer looks more like a witbier but the towering white head suggests otherwise, draping thick lacing over the glass as it lowers.
S - Weiss-Blau's boisterous ripe banana and charming clove give the fragrant aroma a quick snap of authentic yeast that trails off with bubble gum and soft, airy wheat notes for a nearly perfect introduction.
T - Fragrant banana and clove notes develop nicely in flavor but take a back seat to the wonderful blend of soft, supple wheat and pale malt flavor, which, in co-operation with the yeast esters, produces a great authentic Bavarian flavor.
M - Weissbiers generally run higher in carbonation but if there is one drawback to Weiss-Blau, it's the exuberant carbonation, assaulting the tongue and throat with prickly bubbles. It only serves as a detriment because it removes from the beer's soft wheat body that otherwise makes it a smooth drinking experience.
O - A classic, authentic Bavarian wheat beer from an American brewer, Vintage's Weiss-Blau offers a vibrant aroma, balanced flavor, and easy drinking smooth finish for an all around fantastic hefeweizen!

I was the proud customer of the second pour of their first in-house produced beer.
The beer was served in a weizen glass with a thick, clingy white head and a cloudy golden-yellow color. The aroma is wheaty and yeasty--typical inviting hefe aromas, with good balance between banana and clove. The flavor is much like the aroma, moderate estery and spicy yeast character with a very soft, slightly sweet malt flavor. Just enough hop bitterness and slightly dry finish make sure the finish is quite refreshing. The mouthfeel is quite smooth with a proper amount of carbonation for the style. Overall a very well made hefeweizen. I look forward to their other brews as they become ready!
