Pours hazy golden. A thin creamy white head lasts and leaves ample lacing.

The smell is mild for an IPA - but pleasant. Floral notes come through to greet the nose.

The taste is of floral, herbal, (grapefruity?) bitterness with a background of honey-like, caramel-like sweetness to support it. Finishes with a refreshing, lasting bitterness.

It is creamy, fairly chewy, smooth.

A nice hoppy, but balanced, IPA. Enjoyable! Well-done!

Tempered yet optimistic expectations, as this new brewpub opened in place of an old favorite, albeit monstrously headache inducing, stomping ground

Filtered copper pour into a pint glass

Unmistakable whiffs of Simcoe and a Hawaiian punch fruitiness

Oh yeah, she's bitter. Upfront fruitiness and a bitter barrage that continues from front to back. Slight malt presence is repelled by the pleasant abrasiveness.

Overall, a nice effort. But, I prefer my IPA's a bit more rough and tumble. A refined effort that may appease the masses. I am, however, thankful for the potential of a new pub close to home.
