This beer is listed as a Saison, but the menu describes it as a "barrel fermented wild ale" which is a far more accurate description.
Dark brown in color. Chestnut brown. Served with just a minimal off white head. No lacing and nothing to retain. Aroma is mildly sour. Cherry and oak. Woodsy notes. Mild apple cider vinegar notes. Taste is similar. Mild to moderate sourness. Light Oak, cherry, seltzer, apple cider and maybe a touch of barnyard. Taste is a bit thin. Mouthfeel is on the lighter side as well. Very prickly in the mouth. Mild to moderate sourness. Minimal bitterness.
I'm really torn on this beer. It's incorrectly listed on the menu as a Saison, which it is not in the least. As for the Brett, its not a main player, being over shadowed by the sour quality of the beer. As a wild ale, it's not bad. We're not talking Russian River here, but its respectable. If this was listed properly I'd feel a lot better about this beer.
