Enjoying this with my good friend pschul4.
A: Pours dark brown with about an inch of head. Some serious retention on the edge of the glass. The foam does not dissipate.
S: Smells damn good. Scents of coffee roast and a little bit of whiskey like bite.
T: NIce coffee notes and roastiness with a little bit of hoppy bitterness at the end.
M: Pretty thin. More thickness would add a lot to this beer.
O: All in all a pretty good, above average Russian Imperial Stout. Definitely worth a try.

This is the 6/25/13 variation of the beer. Black in color and nearly entirely impenetrable to light. A fingernail of khaki colored head almost entirely. Brussels lacing. Aroma of sweet bourbon is dominant, but there is also plenty of dark malt. The taste is sweet bourbon giving way to more dark malt. There isn't much going on at the back of the palate or the fade. The mouth is thick and chewy.

Pouring into my 10 Barrel Brewing snifter, it is a little frothy. ( maybe I jostled it?)
Pretty dark brownish-black collar, head is calming down after a minute, and is fluffy and tan, looks inviting.
I get a bit of the whiskey barrel in the nose after a solid swirling , but not much until it is swirled.
Very drinkable, nice little whiskey sweetness, no bitterness in the aftertaste.
Yeah this is not too bad, a nice little barrel - aged beer, I like that no bitter flavors are present, sometimes you get that a bit in these, overall it was nice to try, I think it was around $10, so not a bad deal, but prolly not gonna seek out another, like I would with some of the other real popular barrel stouts.
