6.5% ABV. per bottle label.Even though it says brewed and bottled here in Greensboro on the label obviously it's the same beer brewed over in Raleigh awhile back.Poured one and a half bottles into an imperial nonic a very nice burnt orange color with a sticky tightly formed half finge white head that never completely settled.Wow very dissapointed with the aromas just very clean with faint fruity hops. The flavor profile is good for a...English IPA with lefay lightly citric hops but with a hefty toasted biscuit malt base.I think the beer is miscategorized as an American IPA but that's what the label says so that's what it is,pretty average in that capacity.

On draft at The Thirsty Monk, Asheville, NC.

Poured a light copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and veey good lacing.

The smell featured fruity esters and a moderate piney hop.

The taste was essentially hop driven with a full malt backbone.

The mouthfeel was toward the fuller side of the style.

Overall a tasty IPA.

On-tap at the new Raleigh location during their cold open served in a standard pint glass a crisp dark yellow with a nice lasting off-white head. Aroma was a nice amount of citrus hops and sweet malts. The taste was an interesting balance of citrus hops and sweet malts, not quite hoppy enough to be considered an IPA, but hoppier than most Pales. The beer is on the light side of medium with decent carbonation. This one was an enjoyable brew from the newly opened brewpub!

I was told this was very fresh and a new recipe, with Chinook and Columbus hops...

Hazy orange with a thin, creamy head that lasts as a whispy top and leaves ample lace on the glass. Orange, candied fruit aroma...green with slight pine needle notes. Grapefruit bitterness, grain, and citrus rind. Medium bodied and drying. A solid, fruity IPA.

A: Cloudy orange/amber color. Poured a 1 finger white head that dissipated to a ring on the edges. Decanted in lazy bubbles. Minimal lacing.

S: Citrus, orange peel. Sweet bready malt. Slightly earthy.

T: Citrus followed by sweet, bready malt. Slightly resiny ahead of a sharply bitter. Fiarly muted for an AIPA.

M: Light-to-medium body. Moderate carbonation. Almost crisp. Fair balance.

D: Easy to drink, but not what I expected in AIPA; much more likes an English IPA with its more bitter hop characteristics.

I always wondered when Natty Greene was going to bring out a flagship IPA. This seems to fit the bill although it claims to be a limited release on the label. That would be a missed opportunity since this appears to be a big winner. Handsome electric tan color and a monster head with oodles, yes, oodles, of lace. tasty, but not overpowering nose with the expected spicy west coast hops.

Not overly aggressive hopping but there isn't a ton of balance so its fairly naked. Some bready malt notes underneath but mostly, this is still about the hops. Rich, bitter aftertaste that really defines this beer for me. Goes down easy and seems fairly sessionable. Not the greatest IPA in the state but a welcome addition if they choose to make it a regular option.

One of those IPAs that I'd love to try on cask. Already has a bit of oak to it. Hazy brown but not thick looking. Foamy white head had serious legs. Nose was Malta but just some slight hops. Bitters much more prevalent in th flavor. But still nicely balance with the malts. One of my favorite local beers.

Tasting for which Triangle-area IPA to send in a trade.

Cloudy white body, super thick frothy white head. I get whole cone hops everywhere. Citric for sure, but heavy on the lemon, and loaded with sweet grapefruit. sticky honey sweet malt backbone comes in late.

Taste is, just good. Bitterness comes straight away and dominates through the finish. Slight hint of resinous goodness, with a hint of lemon peel adding a bit of sourness. malt forward, but not enough to dominate. My only criticism is that I want more of those citric hops. It would set it over the top.

Pours a rich hazy gold/copper color with a small head that doesn't quite dissipate. Nice delicate lacing.

Didn't pick up much aroma at all---is it me or doesn't this beer have any?

Taste is strong on hops with a slightly sweet aftertaste. A little pine, a little citrus, mostly just heavy generic bitterness. Mouthfeel is good, medium thick and rich with sharp carbonation. The combination of bitter and carbonation gives a somewhat spicy effect.

Not my favorite kind of IPA; I prefer something citrusy like Two Hearted, but if you like an intensely bitter IPA this is your enchilada. Probably quite tasty and refreshing on tap.

This is a delicious hoppy beer with a a full bodied sweet taste. The best IPA I have tasted to date. It has a great balance of hops and sweet malty flavor. The taste is moderately complex, just simply sweet and hoppy. I consider this among the best of IPAs that I have tried. At 6.5% APV, it is definitely mellow for the alcohol content. This is my favorite beer at this time. I hope this is not a promotional item that will be discontinued.

First Natty Green product I can truly say I like! I hope Natty Green will keep it in their rotation as it is currently listed as a seasonal. Full bodied with a nice hop bite as well. A little more depth than some of the IPAs that are primarily hop-driven.
