The numbers "14 13" are printed in the back. I have no idea what this means, since neither could be the month and either could be the year.

Beer is deep red in colour, a bit purplish. Smallish off-white head, which starts to fade quickly.

Smell is nice. Tart cherries figure prominently, with balsamic vinegar. Some funk, but not like a lambic. Oak. Some apple. Very good, clearly a Flanders Red but a very good one.

Taste is quite sour, much more so than other Flanders that I have had. Sour cherry, oak, some cocoa, vinegar. Some green apple in the finish. Very big flavour and everything is well integrated into a cohesive whole. More complex than is typical for the style. Very nice.

Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, sticky. Puckers the mouth.

Overall, excellent beer. The best Flanders Red I have had.

Appearance- Pours up some foam which sizzles as it recedes rapidly and disappears in seconds leaving a burgundy/maroon color that has hues of cherry in it. When it is held up to the light, it glows an almost crimson color. The head is a reddish white with hints of brown. This is a very nice looking beer. It leaves no lacing at all.

Nose- Cherries. It's hard not to think of Cheerwine when looking at and smelling this beer. It also smells sort of like flat Coke. Lots of lactic notes that also has tart apple in the background. This one screams dark, red, fleshy fruits. Notes of plums, grapes, and other fruits as well. Very intense- this prefigures good things.

Taste- Cherries followed by a sharp tartness that fades quickly into strawberry and a bitter red fruit. I can see why fans of sour beers really like this beer. So far, I really like this beer. I just hope that it doesn't become too sour for me to drink at a reasonable pace. Crisp apple also comes out and I still can't find the specific red fruit that imparts the tart bitterness. Thankfully, it would appear that the tartness is not going to linger but is quick and adds some unparalleled zip. There is some plum and prunes followed by some Grape Koolaid at the end. Some oak and smoke start show up near the end. The tartness is also balanced by a dry finish.

Mouthfeel- This is a little bit above medium bodied with some syrup which quickly balanced by scant but tingly carbonation. Nice, crisp, and refreshing- matches the flavor profile of this beer.

Drinkability- The sourness is a delight and not an obstacle. I would not appear that this beer is going to stick around for much longer. The only obstacle to drinking this beer quickly is the 5.49 price tag. However, it is more than worth it. I won't be buying this a lot but I highly recommend this beer. This would be a very good beer for the non beer drinker.

Overall- This is a solid A with 4.5s pretty much all around.

A - dark ruby red. White head, a little bit of rosey tinge. Dissipates prett quickly.

S - green apples, vinegar, sour, some oak

T - green apple, some apple peel, dry oaky tannin, just right amount of sweetness.

M - high and lively carbonation, thin feel, right for the style if not just a tad over carbed.

O - great sour red. Hits all the elements really well, very sour without being over powering or syrupy.

A- Dark cherry transparent, medium lacing vanilla in color; decent legs

S- Sour cherry, some brett and kriek characteristics.

T- A bit sweet for me having gone full spectrum with sours; but it is still very good. Sour cherries, brett lacto

M- A bit to harsh with carb, but other than that pretty decent

O- This was one of the first three sours that started getting me huge into craft.
