A: Pours a clear red body with a thin line of bubbly head. Retention and lacing are poor and minimal.

S: Aroma mixed of cherries, vinegar and other sweet fruits. Vinegar smell is quite strong here.

T: Flavours are forward with sour cherries, very sweet then finishes off with a bitter vinegar taste. The sourness is definitely there with a tad to much vinegar taste.

M: Light bodied with medium-high carbonation. Water like texture with no presence of alcohol. The aftertaste is very sour and vinegary, but does not linger to long.

D: Interesting brew, one of few flemish styles I've had. The cherry sourness is nice, but the vinegar is to strong here.

11.2oz bottle into a goblet

pours a dark red/brown with a slight white head. big sour cherry aroma on the nose, nice! as you take a sip there is a good initial tartness, but not too sour. very good cherry flavor on this one. really digging this. wow, this might be my favorite flemish red i've ever had. medium bodied with medium carbonation, superb drinkability.

overall the best flemish red ive ever red. loved this one.

Poured from a 33 cl bottle into a teku.

A: Medium dark brown. Pours about a 1 finger, bubbly, white head. Quickly settles leaving a smattering of bubbles and a nice beer ring. Slight spotty lacing mostly retreats into the body quickly.

S: A bit of a woody fermented raspberry.

T: Tastes like it smells. Sour fermented raspberry... that's about it.

M: Syrupy, sour, bitter, and pungent. Mouth-puckering dry finish.

D: Sip and enjoy.

Atmosphere is excellent. Nice body, decent head, serviceable lacing. Nose is fruity and powerful with a bit of a woody or earthy tone. Mouth puckering sour fermented raspberry. Overall, this is a really good quaff.

Reviewing this one again since its been a few years and I believe it deserves another shot. This poured out as a vibrant red color with white head on top. Some light thin retention and scattered lacing. The smell of the beer give off some big oaky sour cherry aromas. The taste is tart up front with plenty of sweet & sour cherry flavors there is a bit of oak and vanilla. This beer finishes with a slight malt sweetness. The mouthfeel is nicely carbonated, smooth and dry in the finish. Overall it's a very good Flanders Red. Really glad to have tried this again. Worth checking out.

(4.0) A: Crystal clear caramel-red colour with a tall and puffy head. Lasting retention and some good lacing.

(4.25) S: Sour cherries, white grape, apricot, grasses, wood, and balsamic vinaigrette. Lots of wonderful aromas that are quite diverse. A subtle sour aroma that comes across rich and smooth.

(3.75) T: Vinaigrette, white grape, slight sour cherry, dark woods, and subdued grasses . There is a long and lingering vinegar taste that sticks around towards the finish and is not enough sour/fruity and more vinegar-like than I would prefer. Nonetheless, quite a flavourful Flemish sour ale.

(3.75) M: Medium bodied with a lively carbonation. Slick and oily. Would prefer a much drier and lighter mouthfeel.

(3.75) D: This is quite good, but a little too vinegar-like and not enough fruity-sour focused for me. Additional dryness would be welcome.
