Overly carbonated in the bottle despite recent production date. Somehow tastes flat, despite. This beer is a mystery. It smells pretty good but leaves a lot to be desired. (171 characters)

Appearance: Pours a fudge brown color capped by a beige head; good retention and a few strands of lace appear

Smell: Roasty, with hints of chocolate and oat

Taste: Charred dark bread with a hint of chocolate appearing in the middle; a bit of a sour twang appears, after the swallow

Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate carbonation; lacks the creamy character I would have expected

Overall: I like the low ABV and the reasonably big flavors but I am not crazy about how it all comes together here; I would prefer a bit more chocolate, less sourness and a more creamy texture

Thanks, jonallen, for the opportunity (625 characters)

On tap at f8.

Appearance- beautiful creamy tan head with an opaque black/dark amber body. Cascading effect comparable to Guinness fresh from the pour. Lacing throughout. The glass.

Aroma- toasty with a small hint of oatmeal and coffee.

Flavor- barely noticeable hops (appropriate for the style) along with coffee , chocolate, and well balanced black patent malt. Mild and relaxing.

Mouth feel- creamy, light bodied, and very drinkable. The nitrogen pour makes this one ofthe smoothest beers I've ever had.

Overall one of my favorite of f8's brews.I'm a fickle beer fan and it always seems to draw me back in. (616 characters)

On tap at Tomlinson Tap Room. Poured a nice deep brown with some decent head and a bit of nice lacing. Good roasted malt scents with a bit of earthiness in the nose. Nice roasted malt flavors as well, with a decent flaked oat sweetness, though not as deep as I am used to. Goes down quite well, with just a bit of bitter astringency. (333 characters)
