Bomber that was bottled yesterday right before a tasting they held at Tru Beer in Easthampton MA.

Appearance- Dark brown with a creamy off white head. Carbination is visible.

Smell- A calming sweet blend of maltiness and chocolate. I'm not getting anything too over powering or artificial.

Taste- Very sweet but not in a bad way. Cannot detect the almost 7% abv. Nothing overpowering, somewhat simple but not boring at all, its delicious. Its hard to set down!

Mouthfeel- On the lighter side for a stout but it goes great with the flavor. Its got more carbination than most stouts but its not thin/fizzy by any means! Very smooth. Not in a full, silky way you'd imagine a stout to be when described as "smooth", its just very very easy to put back.

Overall- I think this is fantastic. Its a great change of pace from all the overbearing beers on the market today. Not that I mind the super flavor packed boozed up beers in the least bit but this is just...nice. After talking with them last night I gathered they mainly pride themselves on drinkability and they certainly nailed that on this one. Its got plenty of flavor so I never found myself looking for more but its still just so...drinkable. I rarely buy beers Ive already had because the market is so vast and theres so much left to be explored out there but at $4.99 I will definitely be grabbing a few more of these. GREAT beer to have on deck and enjoy at any time of the day/night on any occasion.

Bottle 2 of 4 of Lefty's that a friend picked up for me. Poured into an Irish style pint glass to celebrate St. Patrick's Day a bit early. Dark brown color, with a moderate sized white head that eventually faded away. Some lacing. Smell was nice. Dark roast coffee and milk chocolate aroma is present. Taste was very good. Lots of roasted malt and bitterness lend a distinct stout flavor to this beer. The one negative I can mention about this brew would be mouthfeel. For a stout, I found this beer very thin. Not much body at all. Alcohol is hidden though. A pleasant dry stout that was a good fit for the day. I've enjoyed both bottles of Lefty's I've opened so far.

Picked up entirely on the whim at Russell's in Amherst. Never had heard of Lefty's Brewery so wanted to try it naturally. Poured into my Duvel tulip.

A - Pours a deep dark reddish brown colour that is clear when held up to light. There was a fluffy one finger that faded at normal rate leaving minimal clouding and lacing.

S - Lots of nice roasted malt aromas here with some faint chocolate as well. Very roasty toasty and sweet.

T - More of those roasted malt flavours. Not picking up much hops flavours, just some bitterness. There are some nice super light roasted chocolate notes too. Still, its somewhat one dimensional.

M - Carbonation is a bit higher than I normally would like but it still seems creamy and thick. Not thin at all.

D - Stuff is quite nice. A very nice surprise from a brewery I'd never heard of. Looking forward to trying their other stout.

I don't know what makes an Irish-style stout. Maybe it is the subtle red in the deep, deep brown body. Finger high fluffy head. Clings to the sides and pulls curtains all the way down. Smells very toasty with a subtle sweetness and a sourness(maybe lactic acid) No trace of hops.

Tastes of a lot of toasted barley and faint bakers chocolate. Some hop bitterness shines trough which I was not expecting. A tingling bitter sweetness holds the middle down with a roasted chocolate dry finish. More roasted bitter than chocolate for the finish. Light body for a stout very drinkable.

22oz bottle purchased at Ryan & Casey Liquors, Greenfield, MA.

Poured into an imperial pint glass, formed a thin skim of beige head over the clear dark red brew. What head there is quickly just a swirl, with lasting lace. Aroma is sweet and roasty malts.

Taste begins with chocolate, a peek of coffee in the middle, and a lightly hoppy clean finish. Mouthfeel is very smooth, and drinkability is excellent. Liking the sessionability of this one, will keep in mind for future.
