Dulcie and Aylwin's big beer adventure day 8 in downtown Portland: To find one of the best and notable breweries in the state in downtown Portland quiet on a Saturday afternoon would be unheard of in Chicago; but that's the nice thing about Portland. Of the ten or so tables outside, only a couple were occupied. It's a nice location NW of the Pearl, an area in a state of emergence from industrial squalor to gentrification.
Of course beer selection is great - most of the mainstays on tap - though slightly aggrieved to find the Double Dead Guy, which was being sold at the Bite of Portland, unavailable at the source except in bombers.
We ate a little and it was good, but not really enough to establish a meaningful rating.
To us, Rogue would rate above other large Portland establishments like Bridgeport, Widmer and Deschutes.

Dropped by on a visit to Portland and grabbed a quick bite but ended up staying longer and sampling several beers. The bartender was beyond friendly and mixed some coffee into a hazelnut beer to convince my wife to try which she did and enjoyed. Just stay away from that crazy bacon maple donut beer. Just walk over to voodoo donuts and get the real deal..
