The atmosphere is cozy--a Portland update of a UK pub-- and all the ubiquitous glut of Rouge product dazzles the eye and boggles the mind. This might seem shameless or excessive in some places, but all the Rogue packaging and imagery is so damn visually pleasing.
The quality is solid, as to be expected from Rogue. The selection is great, over twenty house beers, though no cask. I had tried all but a couple, since, thank Shiva, Rogue distribution is great in Columbus. My wife and I ordered the samplers anyway; they include four selections, which one selects then fill out a sheet with a pen. The glasses arrive in what looks like a hand-carved wooden bottle/tray. I always enjoy the Brutal Bitter and Yellow Snow.
The waiter was a little snooty--the guy who's been there for ten years and their is a picture of him in a bee suit on the wall. Even after our friends, who live in Portland, showed them their Rouge Nation cards, he gave me and my wife shit for ordering the samplers. "We've had your beers! We from Ohio, dude! Let us Dare* Dream* Risk," or whatever the cheesy bumper stickers say. I'm sure that's part of his shtick--and having been a bartender, I know have been snooty more than my share of the time.
The overall experience was great. What I'd expect from Rogue.

Dropped by on a visit to Portland and grabbed a quick bite but ended up staying longer and sampling several beers. The bartender was beyond friendly and mixed some coffee into a hazelnut beer to convince my wife to try which she did and enjoyed. Just stay away from that crazy bacon maple donut beer. Just walk over to voodoo donuts and get the real deal..
