I was in the bar area on a busy Friday night. My first impression was that this is what a normal bar should look like. A lot of the pubs in portland try to be a bit to hipster or yuppie, here was a nice, normally looking place. The first thing I see is the huge chalkboard with 20+ rouge beers listed, awesome! I've never been to a brewpub offering so many of their beers at the same time. What a killer variety, boy was I glad I wasn't driving home. The beers I had were all quite good, with the exception of the Moriomoto Imperial Pilsner, which I was a bit disappointed with, check my review if you'd like. I normally love Imperial Pilsner's, and he's my favorite Iron Chef, but oh well. The cigarette smoke make it hard to smell my beers, but we certainly didn't have to sit in the bar - I think the restaurant was non-smoking.
It was crowded, loud and smoky, and getting beers was a challenge at time, but the people I was with said it was unusually crowded. There were tons of cases of all varieties of Rogue Ales everywhere, and a cool display cabinet with every beer they've released, lot's of one off labels for charities and events and such. There was a back room with tables that had a tasting bar for their Rum and Gin that was a bit calmer then the bar area. Definitely will be coming back to this place, also a great one to take any out-of-towners to experience the Portland brewpub experience. Can't wait to go back and try some of the food and work my way through some more of the beers, especially the experimental ones.

Dropped by on a visit to Portland and grabbed a quick bite but ended up staying longer and sampling several beers. The bartender was beyond friendly and mixed some coffee into a hazelnut beer to convince my wife to try which she did and enjoyed. Just stay away from that crazy bacon maple donut beer. Just walk over to voodoo donuts and get the real deal..
