A lot of great bars in Sarasota, most likely this won't be your favorite, but it will definitely be a place you enjoy.

Atmosphere: small dive bar. nothing terrible, nothing great. two dart boards which was fun. crowd was very tolerable for a saturday night.

Quality/Selection: not a very large selection in bottles or drafts, but what there is...is awesome. i could come here every night for a long time before i ran out of *new and exciting* beers to try. Had lots of oktoberfest and pumpkin styles, which i appreciate for the season. A Little Sumpin Wild was on draft which is also always a favorite of mine.

Service: extremely friendly staff.

Prices: pretty decent. almost as cheap as you can get good beer...which is never that cheap really.

"The Rock" was one of the first places I tried when moving to Sarasota. With this place being so small it is a place that makes sure when you have a seat; you have a bartender to help you as much as you want. The owner, Derek, is a guy who truly puts his heart in soul into a building too small to hold it. As a big soccer fan I was delighted when he would open for every game of the 2010 World Cup and had food available when he could. The beer is on point and the bartenders always willing to let you explore. Not a flashy place but well worth a visit when you're in downtown SRQ.

This is a cool little place. They have not jumped fully on the craft seen but do have a decent selection of beer with some taps that are always rotating. We had Cigar City espresso stout, Lil sumpin wild, and a Bells 2 Hearted all from draft while we were there. It is a small place that is long and narrow with the bar on one side and a little smoking area out back. The guy behind the bar was relatively new and not very versed on the craft scene. Overall this is not a destination place but a great stop for a quick one.
