750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2013 vintage bottling. Pours slightly hazy deep ruby red color with a 1 finger foamy pink head with poor retention, that reduces to a thin ring fairly quickly. Minimal lacing on the glass, with some light streaming carbonation. Very nice color and clarity. Aromas of huge sour black cherry, green apple, red wine vinegar, hay, straw, grass, leather, oak, musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of dark cherry, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, and oak notes; with great strength. Taste of huge sour black cherry, green apple, red wine vinegar, hay, straw, grass, leather, oak, musty funk, and yeast earthiness. Large amount of fruity/acidic tartness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart black cherry, green apple, red wine vinegar, hay, straw, grass, leather, oak, musty funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity and robustness of black cherry, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, and oak flavors; with a solid sweetness/acidic balance and minimal cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, acidic, and tannic mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is well hidden with no minimal present after the finish. Overall this is an absolutely incredible Kriek lambic style! All around insane robustness and complexity of big dark cherry, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, and oak flavors; and nicely smooth to sip on even with the large amount of acidity. An incredibly amazing offering.

Been sitting on this one for as long as I can stand it, and must say it has been well worth the wait. The fun begins with the pour. A purple brew with cherry hues finishes with a bubbly, dirty white froth. Aroma is strong and complex with prominent notes of overripe, sour cherry, black grape and vinegar. Taste is just as involving as the smell and revolves around big notes of tart cherry, burnt sugar and a pie crust yeastiness. Faint notes of vinegar linger in the aftertaste. Light to medium in body and so light and clean from start to finish. Now I'm sad I have no more Lambick X:(

this is elite level kriek, far superior to anything else i have had from these guys, any of the lambickx blends, by a mile! not sure how this works, if they buy krieks and blend them or if they add the cherries themselves, still trying to sort out exactly how these guys roll, but in any event, this is superior to a great many famous kriek types i have had. the color of this is pure brick red crayon, and it has far more head than a lot of these do, way more lively than their straight lambics! awesome cherry nose, the best of fresh black and tart cherries right from the tree, and a more concentrated and refined almost medicinal cherry, sweet enough to taste natural and no more, with layers coming one after the next of pucker from the fruit and funk from the lambic, which tastes incredibly mature and also has a medicinal iodine sort of element about it, minor flattering oxidation, and a woody wet basement mustiness that gives this a wonderful complexity. as much cherry in this as almost any other lambic i can think of, so honest and so saturated, tangy but not too acidic that i cant drink an entire large format to my head, which i did, and enjoyed every drop! this seems like it should cost more than it does, not sure whose lambic these use as a base, but its so pro, easily my favorite of their offerings so far, and i hope to track this down again. tons and tons of funk, wood, and fruit, its vinous and ancient and perfect. world class kriek! unforgettable beer.

Pours a deep blood red with medium haziness and a thick fluffy rosé head. Aroma smells of plum, rose petals, sweet cherry and the classic lambic buteric acid. Flavor starts slow then builds to a sweet, tart tangy fruitless that lingers around. This kriek is in a class of its own due to its uniqueness...but it is darn tasty.

Bottle: Poured a cloudy red color Lambic with a medium size foamy head with OK retention and some lacing. Aroma of tart cherry notes with some oak and funky ester. Taste is a nice mix of tart cherry notes with some oak and vinous notes and some funky barnyard notes and limited acidity. Body is full with good carbonation. I was anticipating much but I was pleasantly surprised by the balance and complexity of this beer.
