Golden body and thin white head.
Incredibly potent sour, kombucha/lambic nose with a trace of ginger. Serious funk.
Sour and acidic, but decently balanced. Light in body and taste, and the finish is not too lingering. Tastes more like kombucha than beer.
Airy and foamy.
Decent beer. Not worth the price but kombucha is expensive to begin with.

75cl bottle poured into several tulip glasses. A big thanks to Tony for opening up this beer late into a great May tasting.
It pours a hazy golden straw with a bright white head that lasts for a while.
The smell is one of the most interesting things to pass over my nose. While I've had a lot of lambics and drank a lot of tea I am completely unfamiliar with kombucha but very interested. This smells just like it should. It's as if a straight lambic and a black tea got mixed 50/50. It's almost impossible to grade it according to a style but it's totally up to personal preference. In this case I'm all over this blend.
The taste is an intense grapefruit/lemon tart and sourness. There is just a ton of lemon taste to this beer. The tea influence then becomes noticeable. This beer just is the most interesting mindfuck of a beer I've ever had. These two fermented beverages blend perfectly in my mind and I absolutely love this beer and think this isn't the last you see of beer and kombucha blended together.

Stone Brewing Co.
Gold straw with moderate amounts of visible carbonation. Leaves the glass fairly clean.
Lots of mustard seed in the aroma, along with bright, earthy, pepper character, grass, and a touch of pickle. Some acid as well. I really like the way this smells. It may not sound that good on paper, but it really comes together. Very bright and fresh aromas.
The flavor is similarly successful as the aroma, perhaps even more so. Lots of the mustard seed, pepper, and pickle character is well, and it comes together in a very refreshing, bright, quenching fashion. Some grass and some acidic sour character. Lots of kambucha flavor.
Thinner bodied with moderate carbonation.
Fantastic. This is an incredibly successful and delicious experiment.

A- This beer has a light hazy orange body with a huge carbonation of big bubbles with some dark brown floaties at the surface. The soapy white head has a fizzy sound when pouring and the head doesn't last very long.
S- The soft lactic sourness gives way to some notes of dried leaves but otherwise it is a pretty clean aroma.
T- This beer has a pleasant tartness with a mineral water taste with some soft lemon and tea notes in the finish. Tehre is a minty flavor that grows as the beer warms and a soft cheese rind that lingers. There are some grapefruit notes that grow with the tartness as the beer warms.
M- This beer has a light mouthfeel with a tight fizz in the finish. D- This beer has a nice tartness that is a bit light like a sweet-tart candy more so as the beer warms. The tea blends nicely with the lambic and it will make a great beer in warm weather.

Puckering sour yet fun, thanks for sharing Americo. Definitely some mushroom and rope with vinegar. Strong fruit and wild yeast aromas. Cloudy peach colour with a nice small head. For tart fans only, and even then a few ounces is all I could tolerate.

Immense thanks as always to ShogoKawada for sending on the goodies. Poured from a 750mL bottle into my Drie Fonteinen tumbler.
Jonquil body with a big active papaya whip head that recedes to a fine lasting collar and faint isles of surface slick.
Pungent kambocha tartness in the nose, joined with a cellar-like aroma with attic/cobwebs/penicillin. Strongly aromatic - paving the way for a flavor bomb.
Lemon, kiwi, raspberry seeds, and sourdough on the palate. Simple but enveloping. No hops that I can detect, as you would expect I suppose. Tart throughout with a mild funk into the finish. Extremely refreshing with hints of lychee in the aftertaste.
Light bodied, crisp, and spritzy...though faintly oily as well.
I didn't think this combination would work as well as it does - the elements of both beverages are largely preserved and retain their own qualities while the combination is quite distinctive and ingenious. I generally hate when brewers really mess with tradition, but it's hard to find fault with this one.

A: golden almost orange with as quickly as the white head rises, it falls.
S: barnyard funk, lemon, sour tart apple, and should be no surprise - kombucha tea.
T: most unique beer I've ever tasted! Lemon, apple, kombucha tea, pepper, as mentioned in previous reviews- like a berliner weisse
M: thin body with little to no carbonation and just like a geuze,leaves your mouth watering for more
O: very interesting beer and at 3.5% very sessionable. The drinkability is exceptionally easy. Could drink this all day!

750 mL bottle poured into a wine glass.
Appearance - Big head atop a clear yellow body. Nice retention.
Smell - Smells like pickles. Nasty.
Taste - Tastes like pickles, but doesn't taste as bad. Cleaner sour. Slight malt presence.
Mouthfeel - Light, sour. Good carbonation.
Overall - Really kinda gross. Not the worst I've had though.

Pours a whitish pale straw color, very similar to a wit, more of a pale peach color actually. The head is spritzy and short lived; settles quickly into a light ring.
The aroma is of a tart lemon, green apple and perhaps a hint of white grapefruit. There is a spice note that I imagine come from the tea. The aroma is very fruity and vibrant.
The taste is of tart grape skins, light apple skin, lemon and a touch of vinegar. The beer is very spritzy so it seems that the beer loses its flavor a bit. I pick up some pepper spice from the tea but not much else.
This sucker is very carbonated; spritzy is the perfect word. The beer is tart on the palate and finishes dry. Great to cleanse the palate.
A nice tart beer and quite refreshing. The flavor is a tad lacking and is one dimensional. Definitely worth a try.

another fun beer enjoyed in an awesome tasting with aasher. Poured in a New Belgium snifter with virtually no foam head and an apricot color.
wreaks of a sour ale with no real hop character. Lemon rind is on the nose and it pretty much bottoms out after that
Extremely tart like a sour without any floral hops. Very smooth. If I was sitting at the pool i could drink this all day.
The initial hit on the palate is very tart with lemon and slight caramel, but it bottoms out very fast just like the smell
The most important part about this beer is that my girlfriend would drink it all day and i could as well.

Served into a New Holland tulip glass, there were a few juice-like bubbles that formed and quickly dissipated. The first pour had bright clarity, and the second was hazed slightly with yeast. Color was a brilliant golden orange in the light. A different bottle I had later had a fluffy head of bone white foam that rose above the rim of the glass.
Aroma seemed to change as it warmed, initially served cold there was a certain Lambic-derived lemon zest, with a dose of minerally dampness. Toward the end of the glass it resembled the kombucha more, with cider vinegar traces, and funky washed rind cheese. Musky, almost footy, but not overpowering.
Fairly tart, extremely dry in the end which was pleasant. Lemon and lime zest, clean and light bodied. Spritzy carbonation, again very light and quenching, almost seltzery. The funky aroma manifested itself late, and didn't really come through in the taste. A whole bottle would be no problem for anyone into sour ales.
This is probably the best Lambic based product to come out of De Troch, though i've never tried their Cuvee Chapeau Gueuze.

Bottle: Poured a light hazy golden color lambic with a medium size bubbly head with minimal retention and not much lacing. Aroma of tart notes with light funky notes. Taste is refreshing with easy drinking tart notes with some light funky notes. Kombucha tea was harder to detect. Body was about average with good carbonation. Nice refreshing drink for summer with just the right amount of complexity.
