Picked up a well-sealed howler on 2 June 2015 from Papago, and consumed it nine days later.
Either the nice woman tending bar mis-draughted from the taps, the menu mis-described this beer, or the right beer was mis-treated by too much time in the kegs. Indeed, aside from the 4.25 for "Look", you could probably pretty fairly replace all my scores of this beer with question-marks, because I'm really not sure what this beer is, should be, or—assuming the first two—what's it's trying to do.
A deep, caramel-heavy, abv-pumped aroma punches the nose and, on first pour, immediately warned that something was up, one way or another. The taste is thick, sticky, heavy on the maple notes, a bit ashy, and leaning towards the strident with every degree it warms. Really, it's essentially a barley-wine—and, if meant to be so, is somewhat imbalanced and fairly mediocre. If it used to be or was meant to be an IPA, however, it's really ... well "not very fine" would be wording things with exorbitant kindness.
If I were to be in Papago again and saw "Hopago" on the menu, I'd certainly (and optimistically) ask for a sample. Otherwise, this is a good lesson on ordering a sight-untasted howler—even when one is in a rush, and even from a brewery one trusts.

Good standard IPA. A little bitterness in the aftertaste. Does not stand out but very drinkable
