A - Deep hazy amber body with bubbly off-white head. Good retention and lots of nice lacing.

S - Strong sour fruity esters

T - Slight pine hop with nice toasted malt and some sweetness. Tangy fruit notes throughout.

M - Medium/light body with moderate/high carbonation. Slick and very drinkable.

O - Really enjoyable, great summer beer. Glad it made it's way up to New England.

Pours a clear brass color with a full half finger head that fades pretty quickly. Some bready malts and grassy/leafy hops in the nose, some mild nuttiness is detected as well. Not a flavor packed beer but there is some lighter yeasty notes along with some bready malts with a light caramel note.Pretty tame but it goes down well with food.

Really enjoyable. Filled with tropical fruits and apples. Maybe not the truest to the style but certainly one I would revisit.

Poured from a bottle into a pint glass.

Appearance: Copper with a thin white head. No lacing on the glass.

Smell: Sweet, with some alcohol.

Mouthfeel/Taste: Smooth medium bodied. Alcohol with a bittersweet fruity flavor and some malts.

Overall: Not really a brew I care for, glad to have tried it.

12 oz bottle.
Pours with a large, thick, fothy, durable bone-colored head that leaves globs of lacing on the glass.
Aroma. malty, floral, spicy and yeasty.
Flavor: Malty and spicy with hints of caramel and some mild hop bitterness. Feel: medium body with a fine soft feel. Slightly dry finish.

O: not great but bettter than acceptable.

Best by 05/09/14, a little past it; let's see what we have here..

Pours an effervescent amber with a thumb of beige head. Pretty nice lacing & head retention

S: Pears, leafy hops

T: Pears, figs, leafy hops & a little caramel up front. More pears & sweet (too) apple juice & a little bit of leafy hops & dryness as this warms. Finshes dry with a little bit of woody hops & grassiness, plus pears

MF: Medium bodied, firm carbonation

A training wheels version of the style. Not sure if freshness will really improve this. Alright to drink, but a one & done me thinks

Pours to a rich off white head and copper brown color. Aroma is toasty, biscuits and chocolate malt. Some spicy hops in aroma as well. Flavor is rich and complex with bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, toast, cookies, alcohol and a spicy hop zing. Mouthfeel is light medium. Overall very tasty and technically clean.

From the 12 fl. oz. bottle. Sampled on September 13, 2014.

Handsome enough medium amber pour with a little fog. A short-lived white head.

The aromas are malty, herby, faintly fruity, and basically sour.

Mildly sweet flavor with a slightly bitter finish. Creamy and smooth. Didn't blow me away but I enjoyed it enough.

Pours a dark honey/auburn color with an offwhite head of about a finger or so. Dissipates to a foamy ring.

The aroma was biscuity, bready, with some maltiness, touches of caramel and earth.

Flavor profile was earthy, with a touch of mild bitterness, tinges of caramel and honey, some lightly sweet malts and bread crusts.

Slightly lower carbonation, a tad creamy, but smooth. Not bad.

It's pretty drinkable and it's a pretty decent beer all around.

Bayou Teche Biere Acadie has a thick, creamy, cream-colored head and a clear, bubbly, amber appearance, with a nice amount of lacing left on the chalice. The aroma is of sugary, fruity, buttery smells, and the taste is the same, with a nice hop note to round it out. The mouthfeel is light and fairly watery, and Bayou Teche Biere Acadie finishes refreshing, wet, and very drinkable. I rate this most excellent.

Poured from tap at Bulldog Midcity in New Orleans, LA. Poured a deep amber brown into pint glass. Very malty sweet aromas, with little other personality. Very sweet malty taste, with some aparent mild hop flavor as well...
Here is the thing...if you compare to how a Biere de Garde should be, it svery close to the description of the style; however, its not all that amazing. Maybe its because I havent had many of the style, but its just an ordinary malty brew to me. Drinkable, but not amazing...I guess just slightly above average to me.
