This is their Biere Joi aged in Jack Daniels barrels for 6 months.

Pours a deep brown colour, plenty of ruby and lighter browns. Finger of tan head. The aroma was a nice, albeit some what on the subtle side, bourbon, oak and vanilla. There's some sweet malts and spicy belgian notes as well. The taste surprisingly brought out a nice bit of coffee and coffee bitterness. Also, a nice barrel note, though not strong. Some woodiness. Feel was good and typical for a dubbel, with a medium body.

It's not intense with the barrel aging, but it does hightlight it nicely, without shutting out the coffee notes. Enjoyed.

Joie a' Tous has a medim-to-thick, soapy, farm egg-colored head and a semi-clear, bubbly, amber appearance. Some splotchy lacing is left on the sides of the glass. The aroma is of astringent, medium-roasted coffee and an odd sweetness. Taste is similar, with a strange mint note. Some fruit and bitterness show up mid-sip. Mouthfeel is light to medium, and Joie a' Tous finishes semi-dry, crisp (like lager), and highly drinkable. Well, this is one of the most unusual beers I've ever had. It's growing on me. I initially scored it as being okay, but I'm going to bump it up to say that it's at least very good. It's probably a better beer than the score, but I have to adjust to the shock, for now.

Joie á Tous
Joueaux Noel 2012
Ale with coffee and aged in whiskey barrels
22oz bottle

Smell: Strong whiskey.
Taste: Upfront, lots of whiskey barrel flavors. Follows with Belgian yeast coming through a bit. Finishes sweet and buttery. Weak coffee intermingles with the rest of the flavors, though not too prevalent. I like and appreciate the whiskey barrel aging flavor, but overall it is too one dimensional. The other flavors fail to stand up and match it.
Overall: Enjoyable, easy drinking brew. Let one of your crown and coke friends try this one and they should like it.

Includes Mello Joy cajun coffee and aged in Jack Daniels barrels for 6 months.

A - Pours a reddish brown, translucent a bit with a one finger eggshell head.

S - Oak, coffee & whiskey. The base beer comes through once you work your way through the other flavors. Nothing really over the top, just a nice melding of flavors.

T - Whiskey upfront, then belgian notes & light spices and has a nice coffee ending.

M - Lighter body with medium carbonation.

O - Easily drinkable... Seems like each flavor in the beer isn't masked by the other & comes through in due time.

Poured into a tulip. Pours caramel brown with a thin, white head that leaves some lacing along the side of the glass as it recedes. There are some tiny bubbles that are visible in the beer as they rise to the top. The coffee aroma is pretty strong. I get some sweet malt and bready malt aromas. Some oak barrel, whiskey, and vanilla aromas are present as well, but they are more subtle. The coffee does come through in the initial sip along with the distinct flavor of Jack Daniels whiskey. The malt backbone provides some body and the oakiness comes through more as the beer warms. The vanilla flavors are very subtle and the sweet malts from the aroma aren't very strong in the flavor. The body is medium with moderate carbonation. The alcohol is lower in this dubbel, but it makes for an interesting sipping experience. This is a good beer.
