Pours out like a light pale ale with a thin head. Smell is strong of herbal, floral hops with some caramel backing. Not much yeast presence. A little bit of diacetyl? Taste is about the same. Yeast is barely there. Some caramel malt sweetness is apparent. This reminds me more of what you'd think of as a biere de garde as it is more malt and hop forwarded than yeast forwarded. Kind of toasty in the finish. Mouthfeel could use a little more punch. Overall this isn't that bad. Ridiculous label. (496 characters)

22oz brown bomber with no freshness date.

Brilliant brassy hue, very bubbly with a decent lacing. Smells spicy with green peppercorn, dried hay & medicinal phenols. Nice crisp pop, moderate size body and pretty smooth. Very biscuity, faint lemon, grassy, mildly astringent, earthy hops, gummy, spicy grain, peppery alcohol, dried apricots. Finish nearly all the way dry, kiss of maltiness in the end.

Unique with very bold complexities thrown down on my palate. I can completely see how you'd want to pair this with a crawfish boil. (536 characters)

Slightly above average saison that hits all of the expected notes. Taste is lemon, honeydew melon, and light grass. Above average, but there are others I prefer in the style. (175 characters)

Looks as though this is the first beer bottled at Bayou Teches actual brewery, as opposed to being brewed at Lazy Magnolia. nice!

Pours clear, dark golden, bright white head. Little lace. Big biscuit notes, toffee, nutty, herbal, spicy. Unique, but highly drinkable. Herbal spicy Belgian yeast notes, bitter, light bready and start biscuit notes, nutty, and twangy. Carbonation is light, and light body. Slick, some oily texture.

It's uniquely good....plenty Saison qualities, but it branches on its own. (507 characters)

Bayou Teche Saison D’Ecrevisses has a thin, off-white head, and a very clear, brilliant golden appearance with some bubble streams and essentially no lacing left behind. But, later, when I swished the bottom of the bottle, it produced a thick, froathy head, with a heavy lacing sheen. The aroma is of rich, spicy malt, and maybe some sort of light, caramel candy. Taste is of the spicy, peppery rye malt, sweet and yeasty white bread, bread crust, and a good, hearty hop bitterness to back it up. Mouthfeel is light and watery, with a bit of slickness, and Bayou Teche Saison D’Ecrevisses finishes mostly dry, lively, and drinkable. Overall, this is a wonderful beer, and I hope you’ll get to try it!

Bayou Teche Brewery Saison D'ecrevisses

Appearance: solid amber, puffy head and a bit of lacing.

Smell: fermenting fruits and a barley backbone.

Taste: sour citrus and apple notes and a hint of barley in the backbone.

Mouthfeel: medium and sour with a pleasant smoothness.

Overall:
This would pair very well with boiled crawfish. I really wish I had some to go along with this brew. It is not the most complex, but one can find many fruits included inside. This would be great in a session. (499 characters)

Interesting. From tulip glass. Loads of orange zest, a tad funk, and hops on the nose. Light carb for the style And more hops than usual which is interesting but not great. Definitely interesting, and I dig the orange zest notes, but not my favorite saison. (257 characters)
