Chilling out low on a 75 degree California day and an Oatmeal Stout served on tap at Provisions in Orange it is.

Nice roast up front like when my baby mama is flat ironing her hair (do it more, ma, it looks better that way.) Mouthfeel leaves a lil to be desired. It's not completely flat, like said baby mama's hair after she's does it done, but it's not as rich and full as the main man would like.

Aite beer for a player. Raul is defi enjoying it today.

32oz growler from j47paco (thanks man!). Filled 5/11/14. Served in a Burnt Hickory snifter.

Pours a dark tea brown with a finger and a half biege head. Average retention and a fair bit of spotty lace.

Smells of coffee, rolled oats and caramel. Straight forward but nice enough.

Taste follows the nose spot-on. Sweetened black coffee, oats, caramel, roasted malt and a little sugar. As in the aromas there isn't a whole lot there but it's good at being what it is.

Creamy yet still fairly light body with mild carbonation. Coffee, oatmeal and toast in the finish.

It may bring nothing new to the style but this is a nice straight forward oameal coffee stout.

Reviewed from notes. On tap @ Library Alehouse.

A: Pours dark brown/nearly black with a one-inch thick tan head which fades slowly and leaves rings and spots of lace.

N: Creamy oatmeal, roasted coffee, slight vanilla - nice.

T: Follows nose with a slight bitter/sweet note.

M: Full body and medium carbonation. Rich, lucious, creamy, smooth, coffee finish.

O: Incredible flavor and body for only 5.7%. Easy drinking. Definitely try this if you have a chance and you are into oatmeal coffee stouts.

On tap at Far Bar in Los Angeles, CA.

Pours a murky reddish-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of dark roasted malt, caramel, coffee bean, brewed coffee, and cream aromas. Taste is much the same with coffee, cream, and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of roast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a very good beer that has tasty coffee with cream flavors that make this one easy to drink.

This one was great, right up there with their "Man's Milk" stout. You really can't go wrong with combining two of my favorite drinks; beer and coffee! This one is easy to drink, not thick and velvety like I thought it might be since it was an oatmeal stout and the last one I had was Velvet Merkin. The alcohol content was perfect as it's really low and makes this beer go down easily. The coffee is very prevalent which is very nice. Color is dark brown and appears a little muddled like it's unfiltered (not sure if it is or not). Overall, all I can say is that I had it and then ordered up a growler right away. Try this one if you get a chance.
