Bomber with a drink before date of 8/6/14.

A: Pours a hazy orange with a half-inch thick white head which settles to a thin cap and leaves splotchy and spotty lace.

N: Soft orange and tangerine citrus with some slight fruity tropicals, floral, faintly dank.

T: Mild citrus fruits and malt balanced, slight pine, pear, stone fruits, some grassy notes.

M: Moderate body and medium carbonation. Dry and semi-bitter finish.

O: Well done. Another single hop showcase.

On tap at Noble Able Works, Anaheim CA.

Sniff test: wow. Like that one girl's 'dainties' load at the laundry mat that you wish came over on the reg for sleepovers.

Taste and all that is interesting. Initially it is juicy like your toddlers sippy cup, and then it is met by a strong, almost harsh, bite like Luis Suarez on the pitch.

Raul approved, but middle of the pack for an IPA soiled Southern California.

Pours out a copper ipa color - a little darker on top and lighter yellow down low - out into my huge noble ale works glass - bigger than a pint

Smells very boozy! Even at 8+ abv no detection of hops, malts or any kinda really good brew - actually excuse me while I lower the rating on the smell - 6 minutes later , still fussin about this smell. Nothing here!

Taste is extremely different than the smell - like biting into a hoppy creamsicle. A small tinge of pineapple and citrus gelatin going on here - pure bliss

Mouthfeel is near perfect. Probably tongue creamiest IPA I've encountered so far - resiny and a thin body for a double IPA- this beer around a out in this category

Overall this brew is real good besides the aroma. I downed the first beer and ready to down the second .. I want this beer as fresh as possible ! Good stuff Noble ale works

22 oz. bomber poured into tulip glass.

A: Mostly-opaque gold-ish brown, with a thin head that lingers quite a bit.

S: Muted citrus tones and grassy background notes.

T: Stays true to its smell -- citrus-y and grassy tones all around, with a bitter, dry finish.

M: Moderate carbonation and body -- as mentioned in taste: bitter and dry at the end.

O: Wish I'd had a little bit earlier in the release cycle, but nonetheless, not the "showers" series' best effort. Still a very solid single-hop brew that can be thoroughly enjoyed without feeling the weight of the ABV, though. You wouldn't know it's a double IPA upon drinking.

- Best-before date = 6-Aug-14
- 22 oz. bottle poured into Bottle Logic can glass on 18-Jun-14

Aromas of tangerines mainly, with some other citrus like grapefruit going on as a minor player. Hints of pine in the background as well, but this is straight up like smelling Sunny D. I like it.

Like tangerine juice, but not so much Sunny D as it is regular citrus juice. A little floral as well. A surprisingly dry finish. I would've guessed a thicker malt body and a bit more bitter finish. But it's smooth and dry. A little bit of heat at the tail end that I could have done without, but nothing big.

Overall, I enjoyed it and appreciate it as a another solid offering from the "Showers" family. I dig this more than Ballast Point's Double Dorado.

Drink before 8/6/14.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy beige head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small swaths of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, candied citrus zest, and slight herbal hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, orange juice, and orange candy flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with nice citrus forward hop characteristics all around.
