Wow. Like the equator on steroids, this thing is firing on all cylinders (but Raul is wishing it was a Prius). Dang sucker really is too hot. Nice IPA flavor, but it's two sips and done.

When something other than the sticky makes Raul cough, he ain't exactly feelin' it.

Billed as an American IPA with chiles.

Pours a murky honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy patches of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and lots of chile aromas. Taste is much the same with a earthy chile flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of chile heat that lingers on the palate after each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a mild chile presence that is definitely interesting.

On-tap at the source itself. I like some spiciness, but this offering I am unsure how it will go. I hope my palate is yet again ready to play the role of guinea pig. On to the beer:

Beer arrives in a chalice and has a lighter orange color in its body. On top is a head which retains in an acceptable manner. Aroma; well, it does smell like part IPA and part chile beer. Some melon rind acts as a cooling aroma to the dose of jalapenos, which is brought out very well in the beer.

I taste a good IPA base. Cantaloupe and melon notes start the journey on the right foot. I could have gotten this experience all the way through had I opted for the regular IPA pouring, but because I was adventurous, I went for spicy. After a brief splash of IPA, the beer gets very spicy. Per flavor, it actually doesn't taste bad, but it's the heat in the end which becomes a stretch. It's medium bodied and very spicy.

Decent for one try, but probably not again unless I'm feeling dangerous.
