Had at Bruery Sucreversary party at the Phoenix Club. Was one of the two offerings, along with Naughty Sauce.

I have really become a fan of the gose style. This unfortunately wasn't very sour and there was definitely no salt flavor. It was just bland and boring. Normallly you get a nice refreshing taste, but this one left so much behind that I threw the rest of it in the trash.

They should look to Westbrook or Rapp Brewing for a better idea of what a gose should be. (472 characters)

Keeping on the beat and just doin' it. Always, like always, stumbled into the hipster joint, Haven, in the Plaza in Orange, CA. Anyway, it was a GoseBusters and Raul is ok with that.

A little murky, a little tart, a little cloying...but not abusive on the palate like an Arby's beef and cheddar. It's more like a BRC burrito from El Pollo Loco - palatable, but you still ain't proud.

This Gose doesn't really make Raul want to GO(se) for another (see what Raul did there?) but it's aite enuff. (496 characters)

Reviewing this beer @ Beachwood BBQ/Brewing in Long Beach, CA. Beer was tapped from a wooden handle into a 16oz Pint Glass. The "Beer of the Day" here!

Aroma- Malt forward with some kind of funky background. A sort of lemon aroma pops up as well.

Appearance- Received with a 1 finger head that has good retention. Has a deep golden but somewhat clear body. Leaves sudsy lacing.

Flavor- The initial taste was a malty-wheat combo with a huge amount of funk behind it. Almost to the point of barnyard but then dies off before hitting the palate. Light bitterness at the finish and didn't seem like much hop was involve (appropriate).

Mouthfeel- Light Bodied, Medium Carbonation level but then a huge effervescent presence. Finishes very sour with mouth pucker, "war-head" reaction.

Overall Impression- First time enjoying anything by this brewing company and was very pleased! I hope California keeps continuing the trend of brewing sours! Would highly recommend this one. (977 characters)

On tap at Neighborhood in San Diego.

Pale, hazy yellow in the tall tulip. Fine-grained foam lasts to the end of the glass. Lemony scent with a whiff of wheat in the nose. Light citrus flavor with a very light body. Sharp, but not overly acidic. There are really not many flavors to mention here. The brewer avoids the fruit-crazy style I've had in other Goses. This stuff is simple but very drinkable, especially for the category.

Overall this is pleasant to sip but not very interesting. Still, it's a refreshing tangy quaff that might be a good introduction to the style. For those who demand a vinegar smell, it may be too mild. (633 characters)

On tap at City Tavern in Culver City, CA.

Pours a murky light orange with a foamy bone colored head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, wheat, and lemon-like aromas. Taste is much the same with a slightly salty flavor on the finish. There is a mild amount of acidity on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mouthfeel that makes this one easy to drink. (550 characters)

On-tap at Beachwood BBQ, on to the beer:

This is a pee yellow color with little head formed on top. Its head retention is short, and doesn't leave lace around the glass. Aroma is a mix of sour lactic acid and malted wheat, giving you two worlds in one whiff. Big lemon note too.

A tasty gose. There is a pleasant tartness with drives the beer, with some malted wheat sweetness which cuts some of the tartness. A hint of salt is noted, no need to go crazy with it. It's a light bodied beer which lifts your spirit, gentle carbonation which lifts the beer's sensation, and a modest tartness in the aftertaste.

This is a fun gose which would be appropriate to drink during most days. Keep it going Noble.... (709 characters)
