This beer doesn’t hold back. We start with as much Canadian barley as we can fit in our mash mixer, then add some toasty Munich malt and toffee-flavoured crystal malt for a rich, malty balance to the hop onslaught that follows. We cram our kettle with Centennial and Cascade hop varieties for refreshing clean bitterness and hop flavour, then dry hop in the fermenter for an aroma that will spank you right in the face. Party like its 1772!

On tap at The Gahan House as part of the sampler.
Pours a slightly hazy deep chestnut color with a smallish white head.
Aromas of earthy citrus hops and a light crackery bready caramel maltiness.
The flavor is bitter and resinous with a solid shot of caramel maltiness behind it.
Decent IPA but it relies more on harsh bitterness than smooth hop flavor.

I bought a can at the LCBO in Ontario 473ml at 6.5%.
Poured a 2finger head into glass. Orange or golden hazy color
Creamy head lasted all the way leaving a solid lace as you drink it.
Lots of tropical fruit flavors with a low bitterness level
Well balanced beer .
Overall a very good IPA beer .
Cheers.

Dark gold in appearance with a reasonable sized head. The smell is bitter and hoppy. This bitterness does not carry over into the taste. Sure it is bitter, but not a hop bomb like the smell suggests. Quite mild actually. This beer would pair well with a spicy dinner

473 ml can served cold into a beer mug. Canned December 22, 2021.
Appearance - Bronze - gold in color, some hazy and capped with a finger plus of rocky white head. Above average staying power and sparse lacing at the edges.
Smell - Some citrus with floral hints and lemon and also a very healthy malt dose and hints of tea. Not the biggest nose out there, but bridges American and English styles to this reviewer.
Taste - Plenty of citrus again, a mingling of mandarin orange, hints of mango with a healthy bready backbone. Grapefruit pith comes in at the end for an assertively bitter finish.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full bodied, well carbonated, semi-soft on the finish.
Overall - Pretty solid IPA that doesn't stand out really. Somewhat reminiscent of some of the older school Ontario IPA's, cross that with a little English IPA and this is your brew. Well thought out and rather enjoyable.

473 mL can from the LCBO; coded Dec 22 2021 and served slightly chilled.
Pours a lightly fogged, brassy golden amber colour, topped with an inch of lumpy, soapy white head that dissipates within three minutes or so. It leaves behind a lovely doily pattern of sticky lace, in addition to a tight, creamy collar and filmy cap - lookin' good so far. The aroma includes bready, biscuity malts with hints of caramel, as well as a strong, straightforward C-hop presence - I'm getting grapefruit, lemon, floral hops and earthy, resiny notes.
Its flavours mimic the aroma - citrusy and malty at the forefront, with toasted grains, bready malts and caramel sweetness mixed together with grapefruit and orange. Pithy towards the back end, with floral hops and an earthy, resiny bitterness at the finish; the aftertaste is a little malty, with lingering hints of citrus and resin. Medium in body, with moderate carbonation that gives a little bit of a bite to this otherwise smooth, slightly slick-feeling pale ale. Good drinkability - I could have a few of these in a row, as it does possess a nice balance between its hop and malt flavours.
Final Grade: 3.81, a B+. 1772 India Pale Ale is a blast from the past, which is actually totally suitable for its name. As I'm sure others have noticed, this brew bears some similarities to both English and American-style IPAs, making it more of a hybrid than anything else. Recommended for fans of 'old school' IPAs: I'm not always in the mood for this kind of pale ale and/or hop profile, but it's a perfectly serviceable option to keep in mind for those times when I am.

More malty than a normal IPA, but with plenty of hop bitterness.
Slightly cloudy at first, deep amber color is also not as typical of the style.
Well worth it.

A style possibly more true to form and not a North American bruiser. Class of the English with all the right elements in place. It does however Teeter on a North American ESB in some ways with more than ample hoppiness. Very enjoyable brew and deserving of your attention

On tap at Gahan House Harbourfront in Halifax, NS. Pous a clear golden amber with an enthusiastic fluffy white head. Initial impression is a fairly sweet, very malty brew with some IPA characteristics (ABV, I suppose - and maybe a relatively bitter finish - but that's about it). Not your typical American IPA. Mouthfeel is medium as is carbonation. Alcohol is well hidden. Finish leaves a slight bitterness at the back of the throat. Not bad, but not my cuppa when there are so many better choices.

Cloudy amber, strong head. Citrus nose from the Centennial & Cascade hops, bitter resinous finish. Indistinguishable from Mad Tom IPA (to me).

A: Amber and crystal clear, with plenty of head.
S: Floral hops.
T: Floral hops, mildly piney. Milder than I'd expect for an IPA, but not bad.
F: Medium bodied.

Bottle (courtesy of LL) to pint glass. Best of the PEI 4pack so far( but the stout still lurks.).
LOOK: mostly clear, yellow-orange. Medium white head that lasts. Persistent carbonation is evident.
AROMA: lots of citrus and tropical fruit.
TASTE: more fruit, mango, lime, even kiwi?. Slight resinous pine shows up late.
FEEL: Medium body, carbonation holds throughout.
Very nice IPA, pleasantly surprised with this one as the Brown Ale and the Honey Wheat were sub par.
