Rerate, 330 ml bottle with tear-off cap, will soon be available at Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. Mahogany colour, large off-white head. Lovely malty aroma and flavour, with notes of fortified wine and Irish whiskey. Very good beer. Original rating: Shared bottle at local tasting. Very dark ruby colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head, some lacing. Pleasant aroma of fortified wine, mild roasty notes and hops. The same elements in the flavour, warming mouthfeel. A beer I would buy again.

Pitch black colour pouring creamy and with medium carbonation.
A lot of blended scents, having the great bourbon touch dominating the taste, combined with whiskey, vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate. The taste develops over some time. The high alcohol content is subtly hidden.
Extraordinary!

Awesome whiskey cask smell right after popping the cap.
Pours black, small tan head fast to a sticky lacing.
Great smell of vanilla, whiskey malt, chocolate, caramel, dry dark fruit and low citrus.
Taste of whiskey slaps you at first, with rich caramel malts, toffee. Dark fruit taste fainter than the nose, but there's still some plum, figs, red grapes, along with some crisp orange zest. Nice vanilla from the barrel, some faint licorice, then, towards the end oak, wood chips and even a bit of charcoal. Aromatic hops stick their nose in the finish, grassy and fruity.
Really smooth body, low carbonation, oily, perfect for a sipper. The alcohol is warm, but feels nowhere near the 13.5%, so actually they're right calling it "deceptively strong".
Beautiful beer, nice and clear whiskey aging, can't wait to try other Porterhouse brews.

Ruby black with tan film that gets chased away fast.
Vanilla, oak, ash, toffee - nice nose.
Liquorice, fig, tar, black bread, a big hit of whisky in the center, then orange zest hops and caramelized sugar fight it out.
Candied orange rind end and big oak barrel hangs around forever before some earth comes out.
Med-full, very oily, huge chew.
Giant whisky note pushes everything else to the edges; makes me want to lay this down for 6 months or so. Definitely not a stout - hop resin more than aroma is woven throughout the beer. Gooey from Galena and malts, both. When it's not oaky, this flicks between orange and black Twizzlers. Surprisingly not hot.
A monster.
