Try as I might I couldn't really find anything wrong with this stout. Other than it wasn't Guinness. J/K
This stout wasn't half bad. Had this at a pub while visiting Dublin. i had always wondered about the stout especially after seeing Michael Collins at the cinema. But I digress....on to the review:

L: jet black w/ ruby highlights as most stouts like this do
S: roasted malt, barley, chocolate
T: Very chocolaty, more bitter than Guinness or Murphy's
F: velvet and smooth
Overall: Not bad stout. Very tasty. Best on draught

I tried this beer off the tapper at the brewery pub in Dublin as part of a three sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with white head that left a fine lace. The scent had subtle roast and chocolate hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and the subtle roast chocolate through the drink. The mouthfeel was medium in body but with good carbonation. Overall it was a great beer.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.7%. Pitch black colour, large to moderate beige head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of mild coffee and dark chocolate, hints of woodwork. The flavour is quite dry and distinctly roasty, strong coffee notes with some woody hints. Long and bitter aftertaste.

just a quick review here because i’m busy watching the all ireland, surprisingly nice stout, lovely meaty smokey malt flavour, nice levels of sweetness, dark chocolate, lots of espresso, oaky, earthy, medium bitterness on the finish, maybe a tad bit thin but very drinkable, pleasantly surprised by the porterhouse here.

From notes 1/16/12: Pours a deep brown/black producing 2+ fingers of frothy, tan, slowly dissipating head that leaves a small amount of sticky lace on the sides of the glass. Aroma is roasted malt, nuts and milk chocolate. Taste is robust and dry toasted bread, with a hint of char; slightly spicy, bitter, burnt chocolate with sweet dark fruit (particularly raisin) undertones. Roasted malts give way to hops in the ashy, dry finish and bitter aftertaste. 3-4 stars.

Pours pitch black, shiny, completely opaque. Very thin khaki colored head dissipates leaving a ring of foam along the outside of the beer.

Aroma is strong with notes of roasted barley, roasty malts, ash, tobacco, hints of vanilla, with a definite astringent ashiness coming through on that nose.

Taste follows the nose with notes of roasted barley, tobacco, an astringent bitter ashiness that smoothes out on the back end leaving a lingering tobacco note. There is a slighty sweet vanilla flavor to this. Earthy hop notes are present albeit mildly on the back end.

Feel is light with bright carbonation that makes the beer feel almost fizzy. Pretty dry finish due to the bitterness.

That ashy bitterness on the finish coupled with the "fizziness" keeps this from being a really nice session beer. (and perhaps at 5% its pushing that status anyway) Otherwise its a really nice beer - I'd happily grab more of this if I see it around again.

Had a half pint of this in a pub in Dublin in May 2018. The menu said 4X "denotes strength of alcohol." It's 5% abv, which would be weird in the US. Their Imperial Stout is 6.5%. It was a tasty stout.

Had on tap. Is a standard Irish dry stout with a chocolate syrup finish and an enhanced booze presence. Decent thickness, and has a viscosity on the end that is nice. But overall the bitterness feels to be fighting against the syrupy sweetness too much.

Poured from fridge temp. Can you say HEAD??? This is nuts. A gentle pour resulted in an entire glass of head. Took a while to dissipate. Pours black, with a lovely nose of roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, and tobacco. Taste is bitter on the back end, with a mild licorice flavor upfront. Definitely getting some smoke and tobacco on the taste. This is a really nice beer with great flavor for 5%. My only complaint is that it's a bit too bitter for me. Mouthfeel is medium, dry, and somewhat creamy.
