I had this draft at the Mint Bar, in the Westin Hotel in Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised to see a brew I didn't recognize among the 8 or so brands typically found in Dublin pubs. As much as I love the auld black stuff, it was nice to try something different. I was also happy when the bartender told me it was brewed just a few blocks away in Temple Bar.
It poured a light gold with a nice cushion of foam, about one or two fingers deep. The smell was of sweet, toasty malts & some brisk hops to balance. The smell belied the taste, which was light & clean with a solid center of biscuity, sweet malts. German Hallertauer & Hersbrucker hops definitely stuck out, creating a refreshing mouthfeel & balancing out the Irish malt.
I'm not sure why Temple Brau is classified on this site as an American Adjunct Lager -- I'm pretty sure by the description it's not adjunct & I found nothing in the character of the beer to suggest that style. Porterhouse describes it as an "Irish lager," & I'm reminded more of a helles or a Vienna lager. I get the feeling that the classification reflects the prejudice of the poster.
Overall I found it pretty satisfying, a refreshing break from the ubiquity of Guinness, Carlsberg, & the handful of other widely distributed beers in Ireland.

On-tap at Porterhouse Central, Dublin, Ireland
A: The beer is clear yellow in color and has a moderate amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that died down but left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface and a collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of bready malts are present in the nose.
T: Much like the smell, the taste has flavors of bready malts along with slight hints of floral hops, the latter of which contribute a slight amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is easy to drink and has nice aromas and flavors of bready malts in the smell and taste.

Served in a small cylindrical glass at the brewpub in Dublin.
A: Light, short-lived head. A very clear, pale golden-yellow beer with lots of bubbles.
S: Skunky/herbal smells. Lager-y. Sweet grain.
T: Whoah. One of the best-tasting lagers I've come across. Crisp, just sweet enough, and balanced by light hops. The aftertaste is clean and only slightly grainy. Very nice.
M: Carbonated grain smoothness.
D: I wouldn't drink many of this, but it's still a good effort and a good beer. Recommended for lager-lovers.

A-Typical golden lager appearance with no head.
S-Cereal/bready pale malts, light, earthy German hop varietals.
T/M-Tasty, refreshing, light. A typical German lager made to be friendly and approachable.
D-I enjoyed it for what it was. Surprised to see so many low reviews. It is a good representation of the style.
