Black color with mist. Light beige colored foam, low but persistent.
In the aroma roasted notes, slightly ashy, but also chocolate, coffee.
Taste slightly bitter, roasted, coffee with a hint of light, unobtrusive salty accent.
Saturation medium. Smooth texture. The beer is characterized by considerable fullness. Aftertaste long dry with an unexpectedly sweet finish.

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 5.2%. Very dark brown colour, nearly black. Moderate beige head. Pleasant aroma of hops and moderately roasted malts, hints of seaside (the oysters? - or is it just my imagination?). Silky smooth and very pleasant flavour, mild roasty notes, well balanced hops. Truly enjoyable, impossible to dislike.

served on tap at The Porterhouse, Nassau Street, half pint, slightly too cold
look: one finger tan coloured nitro head, brown to ruby coloured beer, gentle carbonation flowing up the beer.
smell: gentle malt aromas, roasted malt, lots of dark fruit flavour, raisin and prune, slight vinous quality, not very aromatic however.
taste: actually a really nice stout, pretty rich meaty malt flavour on the opening, then the rush of dark sweet fruits come through, lots of raisin, slightly salty, nicely bitter on the finish, light smokey flavour lingers after the finish, quite nice.
feel: medium to full bodied, lightly carbonated, really creamy from the nitro, very smooth and drinkable while still having loads of flavour.
overall: a most pleasant little stout, gentle and smooth, but still has enough character to make it interesting.

Pours a pitch-black coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smells of roasted, slightly caramelly malt and notes of chocolate and coffee, as well as just a hint of salty brine. Taste follows the nose, with a great balance of roasted, caramel malt, chocolate, coffee and just a hint of licorice, seaweed and brine. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some chocolate, coffe and brine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
As this is my first example of the style, I find this difficult to rate as an Oyster Stout, however, it does make for a rather enjoyable stout with quite a dry, roasted and bitter character with nice notes of chocolate and coffe, while the unique element of this may not be all that distinct, but does come through with just a hint of seaweed and brine, which may just be for the best from a balance standpoint. Quite an interesting an enjoyable brew all in all, brewed with real oysters according to the ingredients listed on the bottle.

From the bottle, it pours a dark ruby brown with a light tan head that lasts a while. In the nose, it is roasted malts. In the mouth, it is roasted malts. Decent!

Bottled and possibly bottle conditioned bought from the Microbar in the Arndale, Manchester
Pours a jet black body with big tan head that creeps back but mostly keeps the surface covered
Treacle aroma with a hint of coffee
Slick oyster stout flavour
Perfect mouthfeel for the style

Bottle. Black, lace, so nothing surprising there.
Aroma is promising with the typical roasted, chocolate, coffee etc. and just a hint of the sea but it could be metallic as well. Not in a disturbing manner.
Taste is unfortunately very one-dimensional. Besides the usual things for a dry stout there is again a slight brine/metal element to it. But nothing interesting and this tastes like their regular stout with a bit of the sea added. Very shyly at that.
Mouthfeel is thin and watery. While that is true to style as defined by the industrial giant, lack of thought is displayed by the brewer. Even these small notes of the sea would demand at least some counterweight such as fuller body or complex but subtle caramel. This feels like they just wanted to add the word oyster in a rush. Also, the fizziness is not overdone as such, but in a watery drink it makes the result soda like.
Overall, does not feel like something to take seriously, even if drinkable enough.
