Thomas Creek makes some decent brews but this didnt cut it for me.Poured alighter golden with real orange hue a thinner quick to fade white head atop, the aromas werent bad, some toasted malt with a light dose of sharpness, the orange aroma is sweet smelling...artificial in nature.Sweet on the palate upfront wich is a turn off right away for me,the orange taste is nearly cloying and overpowers pretty much anything else.Just not my thing,I think I'll stay from the double version of this as well.

Beer review from BA Mag Dec 2007.

Here we have a "pilsner" brewed with honey, Cascade hops and fine pilsner malt from America's heartland. They also call it "Florida's Honey Beer" even though it is contract brewed in South Carolina. Right away the marketing should be retooled, but it's the beer that counts right?

Fizzy snapping crackling white head drops like bubbles from a soda, dirty straw color with a filtered clarity. Hint of sweet honey in the nose, aromas of esters, light buttery diacetyl and a grassy malt show right off the bat that this "pilsner" is not clean. Loose crispness gets lost, slick moderate body drops quick. Hop bitterness is mild; watery citric note in the flavor. Malt flavors are a bit thin and the backbone is not sturdy enough to keep this beer together; honey flavor is vague and there is a mild ester-diacetyl combo that clouds the taste buds. Finishes a bit on the dry side with a wet grain flavor.

I guess the brewer has a very broad definition for "pilsner." Put this up against your typical English Golden Ale and you would not be able to tell the difference. Looks like someone is trying to pull the wool over the consumers' eyes with lingo and talk of honey. Give this beer a pass.

Made with honey, so this is a honey colored beer. Small or no head.

Smell is simply dreadful. Its like a whiff of manure blowing across an open plain. Seriously. This beer smells like poo.

Taste? Like a macro lager with artificial honey flavoring added. If you want to get an idea without having to buy a six pack of this, pour a can of Budweiser into a glass, have a friend chew up some Bit-O-Honey candies, and then have said friend spit into your glass of Budweiser.

Feels like a macro lager in your mouth. What can you say, really? Its thin, its watery, its artificial, its what you'd expect.

I feel kind of bad for breweries that make stuff like this. Only people who are seriously committed to B.M.C. would be interested, but why would they drink this when they can have Bud, Miller, or Coors?

12 oz bottle as pictured. Pours a clear pale yellow body with a small white head that quickly vanishes. No lacing. Aroma is restrained. Adjuncts and faint honey and floral notes. Light medium body with strong carbonation. Taste is unremarkable. American light lager characteristics dominate. Vegetal and corn syrup notes, but not strong enough to taste bad. Fizzy carbonation suggests a mass market lager. Not much to recommend it. Contract brewed in Maryland.

Appearance: orange yellow, medium head, high carbonation, clear

Smell: mostly wheat, malt, and a small scent of oranges/lemons

Taste: small orange taste...lots of wheat

Mouthfeel: smooth, slightly watery, slight bitter aftertaste

Drinkability: I think this is a below average pilsner, almost Corona like. I will not search this out again. I did not get much of a taste of either orange or honey

Picked this one up on a whim, curious to see what it was all about.

Pours a light copper-golden, with a thin head that quickly receded. Upon settling, it looked a great deal like liquid honey.

Nose is floral, with a touch of honey and sugar. Reminds me of Fuller's Honeydew.

A pale lager with honey/nectar notes, and a touch of orange flavour. Not much going on here. The finish is pretty watery and tinny - borderline unpleasant.

A light brew, watery, and yet with very burpy carbonation.

Wish I had got something else. Nothing much going on here. The finish really did this one in.

Pass.

On-tap at the Porter Beer Bar in Atlanta - what can I say? I was curious, that's what.

Pours a honey gold color with a half-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving almost no lacing.

Smells not too bad, this is probably the best part about this beer. Somewhat sulfuric light malt aromas with hint of citrus and a good deal of sweet honey.

Tastes not so great. Light malt flavors kick things off and are joined by indistinct fruit flavors midway through the sip. Honey-like sweetness comes in right before an almost cloying ending.

Mouthfeel is alright. It's on the light side of things with moderate carbonation.

Drinkability is not that great. I ended up pawning my pint off on my lady friend.

Overall I relearned the fact that curiousity kills the cat. This one really isn't worth checking out.

Pours a light golden color with a small white head that disperses quickly. Carbonation is present.

Smells like a pilsner with a citrus maybe herbal hop smell.

Tastes sweet with a light maltiness. Can taste a honey and citrus flavor.

Body is very refreshing and thin with a good finish!

I would drink this again if available in my area!

On tap at The Hunt Club. Light honey flavour, waterish mouthfeel, this is closer to a carbonated and slightly hopped mead than a pilsner. Better than a plain honey beer. Nothing to look at, a tad orange aroma. The pils gives some balance but still too sweet. Drinkable, once.

Pours a pale gold with 1/4" of loose, bubbly head that quickly fades to a thin lacing. It smells of honey and orange peel with a faint metallic note. Taste is sweet, mild oranges and honey with a faint yeast flavor in the finish. The aftertaste lends notes of adjuncts. Mouthfeel is light and crisp.

This is quaffable beer, but it's not all that good. Flavors are weak and at times smack of a macro lager.

12oz into pint glass.
A: Pours a fizzy head that does not hold very well at all. Body is artificial looking orange, with loads of carbonation streams.
S: With a strange spice on the nose, this orange aroma is not projected from any hops or anything that smells natural.
T/M: Mouthfeel is a carbonation explosion that just fizzes out into nothing. The overall taste is short and mellows out like a bland pils. Some key pils notes are poorly represented.
D: Eh not much here, I would not suggest, even for someone looking for a honey beer, because there is none to be found. Still this is a light beer and maybe some could put down a few, I find it hard to conceive for myself due to lack of taste.

12oz single, from BIF across america and BRoss42

appearance: bright sunshiney bottle...pours a pale and very clear golden yellow into a hefe glass...a nice layer of white foams but dissipates rather quickly, leaving a slight lace

smell: artificial orange aroma, but not overly strong...fairly strong grain aromas, sweet honey...tad watery

taste: the first thing that hits the tongue is this artificial orange flavoring, thats is heavily watered down...a spike of grain hits next, little lemon peel, light honey, followed by an unidentifiable disturbing aftertaste

mouthfeel: thin-medium, watery

drinkability: would be pretty high if not for the wierd aftertaste
