Toasted Coconut Porter is a brown porter that’d be a great beer on its own is even better with a subtle toasted coconut character that complements the dark grains wonderfully. A complex and exotic potion that’s an easy drinking, refreshing tropical elixir.

On tap at Oak and Stone. If Porters were originally watered down, then this beer fits. A good bit or aroma, but a little too smooth in taste. Pretty dang sweet.

12 ounce can..
Pours out dark and cocacola like, mini madness head and no lacing left behind.
Sweet cola sniff
On the palate, it’s dark malts, yes more cola, perhaps a hint of coconut...meh, middle of the road at best, a lot of better “porters” out there.

Title alone made me think this might be something special, the taste, well...
...The most endearing quality of this beer is its scent - strong coconut and malt that mixes together quite well. But besides that? Well, the look was a very dark brown with little head and no staying power with a mouthfeel was that somewhat watery across my tongue. The taste was the weirdest aspect - I really couldn't pull out any coconut notes and the whole thing had a funky deal to it. (Maybe I got a skunky batch? Or maybe I should have drank it closer to its canning date - June 2018? Who knows?) Overall, this was okay, nothing really to write about here, but something I might try the next time I see one and it's canning date is way more recent than what I tried with this one.

Tastes a lot like a lighter Yeungling black and tan. Pour is about the same. Smell is light as well. Beer is as dark as I was expecting, not black, but a dark root beer brown. I find this hard to call a porter. The toasted coconut is misleading, taste is dry with more toffee and a little smoke. Beer is good though. Finish is crisp and clean. Not really what I was expecting by the name and can design, but not bad beer either.

IPA'd to death while on vacation and was looking for something a bit different, but not weighty. Then came along a coconut porter. How fortuitous.
Poured shiny black with very little froth.
Nutty and toasty to the nose with accompanying notes of coconut, gum and faint chocolate.
Sweet gum, coconut, vanilla and faint notes of dark chocolate and pine coat the palatte.
Light to medium in body.
A subtle porter that won't weight you down but won't bore you to death either. ...and really, not as bad as all that.

I love Mounds candy and was expecting something as such being a porter with coconut. This is now where close to what I experienced. Sour and bitter yet clean, one could also say this is refreshing for a dark brew.

12 oz can with a June 2017 canning date.
Looks good, with a clear copper-mahogany body topped with a good head.
Overly thin body with good, medium carbonation.
This is an OK porter with minimal coconut, especially prior to the aftertaste, and a poor selection of hops.
