My girlfriend has been talking about taking me here for some time now. We went there Monday, April 28 around 7:00 P.M. Not what you would expect walking in the place. It is a smaller place. We sat at the bar because, we like sitting at the bar. She had been raving forever about the beer selection. I saw the online beer menu. I was pretty impressed. The first beer I chose was out of stock. So we both had a Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale on draught. Not my first time with this beer. But it was my first draught experience with it. Freaking awesome! I ordered the chicken cordon bleu sandwich and fries. She had the grilled cheese with cheddar, apples and bacon. For the price of the food, the proportions were more than fair. The food was excellent. No complaints there. The bartender was not overly friendly but was very attentive. The next beer I chose was also out of stock so my lady picked me a, Meantime London Porter. Not a bad porter. The atmosphere was set by the music. Two meals and three beers and we were out of there for less than $35.00. I was enjoying being there very much. I look forward to going back in the future.

This place is located in downtown Akron, and specializes in gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches and craft beer. The restaurant itself is unassuming from the outside; 'dive bar' comes to mind. Inside, it's completely new and clean, and very modern. The menu items are all very good. I had the Mac & Cheese Bites and the Number Twelve, both were amazing. Their craft beer list is probably the best in the city. They have 9-10 craft beers on draft (none of them are Budweiser/Miller/Coors products) and probably over 100 bottle selections. I had the Black Rajah from Brew Kettle, and it was served in a 10oz snifter. Great beer in great glassware is always a win for me! The service was not overly impressive. My beer and water was kept filled, but we waited about 5 minutes before anyone approached us, and it just wasn't what I would expect from a restaurant of this quality.
Overall, I would recommend this restaurant and its beer selections without hesitation!
PS: The total bill for my appetizer, sandwich, and beer was under $17. My colleague got two glasses and a sandwich, and hers was under $15. Stupid good food at stupid cheap prices, and I could get used to Akron's low, low taxes.

I have to review Lockview. Easily one of my favorite places to go in Akron.
Atmosphere: if you want to go any time after 7 on Friday or Saturday, plan on calling ahead, and once you're there expect a very loud and crowded atmosphere. The food and beer selection is worth it, though. If you go during lunch the atmosphere is pleasant. Also, at night it is pretty dark.
Quality: great food and great beer. My personal favorite is the #2 with sweet potato fries.
Service: the waiters and waitresses are good here. Very knowledgeable on the beer selection and friendly.
Selection: best in Akron hands down. Always have some different beers on tap. Lots of Rogues and Southern Tiers.
Food: I love the food here. My only complaint would be quantity. Sometimes I leave still wanting more food, but maybe that just means I need to drink more filling beer, haha!
Value: prices are pretty average in terms of food and beer. Expect to spend around $20-25 for two people's meals.

I had been told to check out this place by my one cousin who stopped in and said their beer list was big. With that I checked out their website and felt that it'd be worth checking out. I was anning a trip to Indiana and figured that place would be a good break from driving.
The outside of the place is pretty nice looking got a heavy looking wooden door and a small window and some thing listening the windows. As I proceeded to go into the place I could help but notice that it looked like a 50's or 60's style diner or sort of like a malt shop a little bit. The bar was fairly long and had a big chalk board above a mirror with the beers listed on it. There were a good amount of tables and booths there that really had a vintage feel to them.
The waitress/bar tender I had was pretty cool, I believe her name was Shawna. Very polite and knowledgable about most of the beers they had.
The food was very tasty, had the homemade Mac & Cheese bites and a Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich that really hit the spot. The prices were decent I thought for what you get. I had 2 beers and the food and I think I left paying about 24 bucks without the tip figured in. It's an interesting little place and glad I stopped by.

Went to lunch at this place with my girlfriend after she had visited it once before. After knowing how much of a craft beer fanatic I am, she knew it would be a place that I would enjoy. This restaurant has a great amount of craft beer in both bottles and on draft. I tried for the first time a pale ale from southern star brewing out of texas that cans all of their beer and it was excellent! The food is relatively cheap and pretty tasty, they do a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches. It's no Melt bar and grilled, but for the akron area it's a pretty interesting place. I would suggest checking it out, going to lunch there again tomorrow after i get out of the firehouse.
