Whether you are doing a little fly fishing here on the Battenkill or watching your favorite team on the tube this ale will be the one to have. A little brown in color but not dark in taste, with subtle hints of coffee. This ale will become a favorite after the first taste.

Had this on draft on my last trip to Vermont. Tasted like Vermont. Hearty, complex, colorful, carmel. Tasted great,,,had another.

NORTHSHIRE BATTENKILL ALE 8/26/15
Bought in southern Vermont on a recent trip. Not distributed in my state.
a: Clear dark amber with a two inch thick offwhite head which receded to rocky surface foam and spotty lacing.
s: Caramel malt.
t: Follows the nose with added sweetness, followed by a balancing hop bite which lingers slightly on the otherwise sweet finish.
m: Light to moderate, good body and carbonation tingle.
o: A highly drinkable amber ale, Sessionably enjoyable to sip or gulp.

Less smooth; more rustic brown. I get some good maltiness here.

This is our go-to brown when we can't find Heady Topper on the shelves in Barre. Caramelly - great taste
