Went last night with a friend, perhaps the 10th time for me. Got there at 6:00 and there was already a 40 minute wait. After about 25 minutes we got two seats at the bar, so that was nice, and a first for me. Drank Allagash White to get started (empty stomach), then split a Hop Rod Rye with my firend before we got our table.
Ate the #2 Mussell pot, yumm. Ordered the Belgian Sausages and mashed potatoes with Abt 12 gravy along with a Goulden Draak on draft. What a great combination. Had an Unearthly IPA for "dessert".
Our waiter, one I had not seen before was nice, but not always attentive, and did not really know beer well. Perhaps he is new and learning; there is a lot to learn there. Usually we do better in the service dept.
The place being so crowded was quite loud. My voice is not a loud one, so I had to really speak up, and my throat felt it later. Still, this is my favorite pub; fantastic beer selection (unless you like RIS or German), and the food is just as good, for a pub. If I lived closer I would be here every week.
