Orange in colour, with a hops and citrus aroma. Has a nice hit of grassy hops upfront, followed by grapefruit, malt, and maybe a bit of pine. It's got quite a drying finish too. Lacks the complexity or balance of some of the better IPAs that I've sampled, but this is still a very solid and drinkable example of this style.

The colour is an evident rusted gold which pours good head and decent carbonation. It tastes of sweet and hoppy herbals with a middle of malted toffee. The finish is long with a low key floral aroma. The taste is kind of all over the place on this one..

Appearance - This beer pours a very cloudy orange color with a finger and a half of thick foamy off white head, the head fades and leaves a thick film over the top of the beer. This beer is bottle conditioned and I see quite a few floaters, at not even 3 months old yet this is a little alarming for me from a quality standpoint.
Aroma - leafy floral and earthy hops dominate the nose, then I get toasted and pale barely malts some breadyness and a freshness usually found in AAJ's
Taste - Like the nose those leafy floral and earthy hops are all here at the forfront and produce a very bitter taste, they are followed by some biscuity/cracker malts and some white bread at the back of your mouth. I'm really not a fan of the way these flavors came together.
Feel - watery light medium body with mostly creamy carbonation, a light tickle on the tongue as well.
Overall - This is a bad IPA and as a beer its mediocre at best, the flavors are odd for the style and they dont mesh well, Its like saying lets take the worst style of ipa a leafy earthy one (with no pine at all) and throw it in a belgian pale ale let them sit a couple days and poof we have our "ipa"... no thanks I wont be having this again.

Poured from draft.
A: A turbid burnt orange look with minimal head, but a ring of soapy lacing that leaves a residue of film as the beer is consumed. A unique looking IPA.
S: Light to moderate hop aroma with hints sweetness and sourness in the nose.
T: A mixture of hop bitterness and sweetness upfront with a hint of yeasty sourness in the finish.
Overall: This was a nice, satisfying IPA with some unique features that help distinguish it from the crowd.

Got this one at Depanneur Peluso in Montreal this past summer. Awesome shop.
From a 500ml bottle into a snifter
APPEARANCE: Pours a three finger, looser looking, white head with decent retention. Perfectly clear, burnt orange body with lower levels of carbonation. Head fades to a nice foam cap, though only a half wisp remains until the end and leaves some dots of lacing down the glass.
SMELL: Pale malts, green fruits, apples and pears, with some citrus notes in there as well. Pineappl shows up with a touch of yeasty sipces as well. Cross between a pale ale and a Belgian blond. Not really that impressive.
TASTE: Pale and toasted malts, a touch of melon and citrus, then green fruits and spices at the swallow. Medium and lingering aftertaste of pale malts, spicy yeast, and some citrus lemon and floral hop bitterness. Decent, though more a pale ale than a blond here. Still, this is odd within the style.
PALATE: Very light body and higher levels of carbonation. Airy on the palate, goes down fizzy and finishes somewhat dry. Not plesant at all.
OVERALL: This isn't a quality IPA. It's a bit schizophrenic, not knowing if it's actually an IPA or a Belgian blond ale, and the palate is just way too airy and light. A better feel and I could at least drink the bottle, but as it is, Drain ended up with most of it. Skip this one at all costs.
