A- This brew glows an orangy/copper color and is slightly hazed in clarity. It has a thin white head that retains very well, and is white in color, with just a tinge of limey green coloration around the edges. The carbonation appears to be fine, as it lumbers its' way to the top of the glass. Modest lacing clings to the side of my glass. This is a decent looking beer overall!

S- The aromas are generally nice on this one too, with sweet malt and citrus fruits carrying the load here. The fruitiness comes across somewhat cidery and even has a soapy tinge to it. The finish is of modest hop bitterness/tartness with the fruits mixed in there!

T- Fruity...quite fruity...the lime comes through very well in a natural sense but I'd like to taste more raspberry...I only get the essence of it. Tart berries and softly puckering citrus zest round out the rest of the flavors, with a slight bitterness/tartness after the swallow. This is very clean tasting on the palate, and is somewhat cooler like.

M- This is thin bodied and definitely thirst quenching! The carbonation is zesty, albeit fine textured on the palate. Overall this provides a refreshing feeling and mild flavor!

O- While I'm not going to drive to Quebec for this, it's not bad. I think this would go well with a Key Lime or Cherry Pie for dessert. This also make a nice intro beer into the category and is definitely great on a hot day sitting on the deck!

This beer appears a medium clear pale golden hue, with one finger of soapy white head, and no lace. It smells like sour raspberries, and very little lime citrus. The taste is mild swwet raspberries, a bit of lime tartness, and light biscuity white grain. The carbonation is on the low side, the body has a bit of fleshy fruit pith, and it finishes dry and a bit vegetal, like a raspberry bush.

Nicely balanced between the sweet and the tart, this is a decent summertime quaff.

Sample at the Mondiale 2005: Poured a clear light brown color ale with a medium head with no retention. Taste is dominated by lime (no syrup just actual lime) and I could not tell there was any raspberry in this other then the fact that it is mentioned in the beer name. Taste is also clearly dominated by the lime which is not a bad thing in itself but it just means that I wouldn’t drink a lot of those.

Poured from the bottle dated March 30 2012.

A very clear and orange to red amber body, mixing with some small cola carbonation. Head is fluffy off white, settles nicely and always manages to keep a thin puck while drinking. Not too bad here looks actually alright.

Nose is non existent, with hardly a hint of fruit at all. Grainy. A little strange spice and fruit bitter citrus oil, and strangely some apple.

Taste yields nothing like expected. Grainy malt action with an oily zest finish. No sense of fruit at all, where is the raspberry on this? also with a very prickly carbonation. Aftertaste though has a very toasty finish though however.

Overall it's a passable brew, but certainly doesn't live up to what it seems to claim to be, and it's certainly not fruity even. Doesn't really hint at lime, and there's no raspberry to this at all.

A new bottled beer from La Barberie for their Seasonal Beers series.

No head (bummer) but lots of carbonation. The color is good. Copper with some reddish notes. The aroma is all raspberries with some citrus fruit. Combined it is similar to cherry ?!. Not bad for a smell. Taste is similar and not much bitterness. I would prefer that some bitterness be present on the finish. Maybe more hops would be good too. Refreshing and easy to drink. Not a bad beer and a change for the summer. A good fruity beer.

When I poured this beer I loved the color; nice copper with a tint of red and a bit of cloudiness. It's very fruity with lime being the dominant flavor with hints of berries/cherries; quite enjoyable. I think tasted fine but the lime was overpowering all the other fruit flavors. It was a bit thin but keep it's liveliness through the acidity of the citrus.

I liked this beer but I'm not sure I'll buy it again; maybe it's just didn't balance the fruits well enough, can't put my finger on it. I definitely think it's worth trying specially on a hot September afternoon.

Cheers

Wow this was like the joke beer of rudzud and my Montreal trip. He first thought it was an actual framboise style beer with lime, then after looking realized it was a pale ale like thing with fake lime and raspberry syrup added. It actually tasted even worse than we expected.

Light fizzy head fades almost instantly, hazy blond orange slight reddish color.

Nose is so fake, big fake raspberry syrup, a weird lime aid citrus thing, malt extract and syrup, generic bad fruity thing.

Taste is like a fake lime fruity soda, weird tannic bitter syrup mess, but not sweet, fake syrup, nasty lime, regurgitated. Ick! Key lime vomit.

Mouth syrupy without sweetness, just bleh, bad carb.

Light amber color and nearly clear; No lace or head when presented.

Has a complicated aroma. There are raspberries but I don't detect any lime. I do note some pine needles.

Mostly malty on the tongue. There are subtle raspberry flavors (again, no lime?) This is a thicker beer--a combination of a skim milk consistency and low carbonation.

Picked this up on a whim while in Montreal with JLindros. For 4.99 CAD I REALLLLLY wish I'd checked this beer out before buying. Ugh. Shared with JLindros and Threelions.

A - Poured a clear amber hue with a thin, thin blanket that faded to leave light wisps. Rather average.

S - Aromas of sweet malts, SUPER faint raspberry and even fainter lime zest. Bud Light with Lime has more natural lime aroma.

T - Taste is keylime galore, loads of tannins, gross bitter syrup. Really horrible rotten lime zest pith and sweet caramel malts. Once again, Bud Light with Lime has a better lime taste.

M - Mouthfeel is lightly carbonated, average.

O - Overall, this beer was just horrible. A complete waste of money with no redeeming qualities aside from the fact that it is a liquid.
