Enjoyed on cask at the brewpub. Presented in a pint glass. A composite review of three pints I enjoyed yesterday afternoon.

Super frothy 1" head over the barely translucent brown brew. Tons of heavy coating lacing everywhere. Minimal yet balanced aroma. Similarly balanced taste, with light sweetness paired with an artfully offsetting amount of hops. Mouthfeel and drinkability were incredible. The first pint went down in about 4 swallows, and the third pint was as enjoyable as the first. Now, I'm a sucker for a nice cask brew, but this was better than one I have had in a long, long time. Check it out if you can.

Stopped by in ABC for a nice meal and brew. Much to my surprise and excitement that had the first legal beer I drank, Massatucky Brown, featured as a cask!

A - Sweet mother of mercy. Theres an almost 2 finger super creamy head atop my glorious beer that looks even creamier than the head atop a Guiness! Massive, massive amounts of lacing on this.

S - Usual Massatucky aromas here.

T - The usual Massatucky flavor profile here as well. Just delicious.

M - Okay, oh man. This is smooth and creamy and wow. Superb, just superb.

D - Sweet sassy molassy this is amazing. By far the best cask I've had in years. Sadly only had two pints, the first one went down in less than 5 sips and the second was just as good but had to be savored.

I sampled this at brewpub. This Brown Ale looked good: nice amber/brown color with some aroma. The taste was good. A smooth drink with low hops and good malt character. The moutfeel was pretty good. And the drinkability was above average. Overall a good Brown Ale.

Poured a solid brown in color. Completely flat. Nada for head. Waitress said that was how it is supposed to be. Some light peaked around the edges. Nose was malty with a very, very slight smokiness. Flavor was very watery but I believe that is approriate for the style. Malts were sweet and toasted. Some nice smokey peat. Burnt toffee. Bits of hazelnuts were trying to peak through as well. Very thin mouthfeel. Light, flat and watery.

L: Pours a nice brown color with a short and medium sized off white colored head that left some nice lacing down the glass.
S: Smells of sweet malts, some caramel malt, a hint of nuttyness at the end as well.
T: Follows the nose pretty well with a mainly caramely sweet malty base along with a bit of nuttyness at the end of the flavor.
M: Very smooth, fresh, and refreshing with the right amount of carbonation.
D: Very drinkable, I enjoyed this one very much.

A little darker than I was expecting, this one nonetheless didn't disappoint. Pronounced grain and light nut aromas lead into a briefly sweet and continuously grainy flavor. Very nutty throughout. Finishes with a surprisingly potent hop bite -- hardly unwelcome in this well-balanced beer.

Poured from the growler into a pint glass with little to no head and a thin lace. Smell was of caramel and light chocolate and some honey towards the end. It was light on the hops and pretty average on the malt. Taste was mainly nutty, with some bland chocolate characters pulling through as well. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and really easy to drink. Not bad, not bad at all...I'm starting to like brown ales more and more.

Had on tap at ABC. It appeared as a dark-brown with some amberish hints; it also had a very thin head. The aromas of malt were most apparent but they were pretty weak. The balance of sweet-bitter were the flavors jumping around in this beverage with some minor chocolate-like tastes. The beverage had a pretty good carbonation which makes it pretty easy to drink. In general, this is a pretty crisp and balanced drink that is both bitter and refreshing.

Presented adark amber brown color.Goood amount of a thin creamy lace around my glass.Very creamy mouthfeel that rolled off the tongue.A clean and refreshing brown ale.The taste touched on molasses, bark, wood, and roasted nuts and oats.Very good and worth a second try.Well balanced with a nice malt texture.
