On tap at The Hangar, a 6oz? taster. OK looking, decent head, retention and lacing. Not much nose. Dry and bitter, bready malt, grassy, cat pee, gratuitous booziness. Medium-bodied. One-and-done, didn't bother to bring a can home with me.

First time having a can of ABC brew, very nice to have affordable tall boys to go in a lot of different varieties. Have had this one on draft throughout the years a few times.

A- Pint-sized can poured into a can glass with an copper-amber body and a thick frothy cap. This head builds to just over a finger high with fairly good retention. Very thick sheets of lacing for several inches with drizzle below that.

S- Citrus hops, the zesty and bright ones, really jump off the top with grapefruit and orange coming to mind; not juicy so to speak. Pine and floral tones follow those up and the malts are felt with toasty and slightly sweet hints. Yeast bread.

T- Changes things up quite a bit with a re-arrangement to a more resinous pine forward hop profile carrying along with it juicy tropical tones like mango and the strong citrus. Bitter orange, floral, dank, tangerine and herbal hops cascade into toasty, slight caramel sweet, spicy and bready notes.

MF- Medium bodied thickness with a texture straddling the line separating foamy and creamy. Substantially high carbonation well within stylistic boundaries promotes the delicate hop spectrum of flavors and leads into a clean bitter finish.

Not quite there but poking into the amber territory while still retaining IPA-ness. The flavor transitions from bitter pine and citrus zest into tropical juice making for a multi-dimensional hop experience. Toasty and bready base allows a refreshing balance without any awkward hop-sweet interference. I have always found Amherst Brewing a bit underrated but also up-and-down, this is the highest up I've experienced in some time. Hopefully the rest of my mixed four pack of cans is just as good.

Tap at the brew pub.

Decent creamy fizzy head, dark amber copper red color.

Nose big spicy earthy hops, little citrus fruit and grassy notes, little sweet malt.

Taste starts with candy sweet malt, quickly into earthy spicy hops chewy and herbal oily like, fairly bitter, big spicy hop extract like, weird hop flavor, and bitter icky thing. Where's the citrus and fruit? Little alcohol phenol thing too. Finish fairly bitter, spicy earthy herbal hop lingering, little hop oil too.

Mouth is med bod, decent to lighter carb, little gritty.

Overall meh, nothing great, but not that bad at least.
