I stopped off here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and some beers. This was my first visit to Amherst Brewing, and in fact, my first trip to Amherst overall.

It was a nice day out, but we sat inside at the bar. I got the sense that it was a lot busier than normal for that time of day. The bartender was alone and couldn't keep up with the demand of all the table service plus the people at the bar. He did the best he could without any help.

The beers were quite good. I had a pint of their Cask Conditioned Anniversary Ale followed by a 6-way sampler of Honey Pilsner, Pale Ale, ESB, Brown, IPA and a seasonal Hefeweizen.

Usually I'm happy if I can find one or two varieties that I like at a brewpub since it's difficult to nab everything .... however, the brewer here is doing a nice job. Each beer fit well within the style except for one in my opinion. The ESB was a little more carbonated than normal, and it had more of a brown ale flavor. It was a good beer, but didn't quite fit into the ESB Genre.

Lunch was good .... had a special off the lunch menu, and I was very happy.

I would definately return here next time I'm in the area... and I'd probably budget more time to hangout at this place. (1,220 characters)

Just moved to area and someone told me about this place. Huge interior with pretty decent beers on draft with some really good guest beers. The place is so big that a 100 people inside looks 1/4 full. Food was ok - bar food. Beer were decent enough that I'd go again. (267 characters)
