Pour is hazed golden amber with a small amount of tight white head. Nose has a strong bit of vinous notes with a hint of cheesiness. Has a light saison yeast and a fair bit of citrus. Taste is a bit more flat in the flavor, still tons of wine with a cheesy note and a faint touch of farmhouse yeast. Finish is a bit thin, soft carbonation, gets slick in back.

12oz. bottle into Hill Farmstead stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Pours a very thin light, white foamy head with little retention. Beer is a clear pale orange that reveals ample carbonation. Spotty lace with little stick. Average.

Nose is citrussy and floral. Hints of mandarin, cane sugar, coriander and a woody tartness. Nicely aromatic.

Opens citrus and other tropical fruit. Starfruit, pineapple and grapefruit tartness balanced by a foamy, funky oak presence. Dry and puckering in the middle with coriander, peppercorn and other spices. Finishes the same with the addition of a light, peppery bitterness. Aftertaste of lemon and citrus rind. Really good.

Light bodied with ample carbonation. Prickly and foamy in the mouth and dry and puckering going down. Clean, dry finish with a slightly lingering, coating aftertaste. Really drinkable.

Although the flavor is distinctive, pleasant and well integrated, its the mouthfeel that really carries this one. Incredibly drinkable with a bone dry end that is just perfect. Certainly worth trying!

375 mL bottle poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy deep orange. Small white head. A little leggy with some lacing.

Smell - Orange and grassy hops. Light acidity. White wine.

Taste - Very hoppy. Orange and grassy hops. White wine is much sharper. Oak. Tartness builds and dies off quickly.

Mouthfeel - Medium light body. Well carbonated.

Overall - Reminiscent of Juicy. I like the wine barrel and level of hoppiness.

A bottle shared courtesy of my ever generous beer buddy Abbbp, poured into a prairie Teku glass.

Appearance: Yellow with hints of amber orange. No head, but significant spotty lacing and a persistent bone-white crown.

Smell: Smells like a Hill Farmstead saison. Lots of brett, some vague fruitiness (perhaps berry, or maybe peach?), and a significant vinous quality. I don't really expect this to be all that sour based on what I've smelled.

Taste: As expected, no real sourness here apart from a vague lemon, citrus character. Loads of brett, some crackery malt on the finish. Some faint bitterness too as well as a decent amount of white wine, perhaps a hint of oak. Nice, but I don't know if it does much to distinguish itself from the countless other saisons out there with the same flavor profile.

Mouthfeel: Not particularly dry, and carbonation could stand to be a bit higher, although it has been sitting a while.

Overall: There are a million American, oak-aged saisons that taste like this. Hill Farmstead brews a few of them. They're good, but with a market like that you really need to stand out from the pack, and I don't think this one does.
