Notes/Commercial Description:
Edward (1917-2002) is our grandfather; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his five children. In his honor, this American Pale Ale is dutifully crafted from American malted barley, a plethora of American hops, our ale yeast and water from Edward’s well. It is unfiltered, naturally carbonated, and dry hopped. Aromatic and flowery, with impressions of citrus and pine, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Edward.

85 IBU

Pale and Caramel malt; Centennial, Chinook, Columbus, Simcoe, and Warrior hops; House Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

I had this on draft a few times while in Burlington on vacation.

A: A dark golden color.
S: Citrus and pine. A perfect hop balance in the smell.
T: The taste delivered on the smell. So well balanced with the perfect hops to malts.
M: Nicely carbonated. The pine resin lingers which makes the next sip more intense and enjoyable.
D: Probably one of the best american pale ales I have ever consumed.

This beer is about as perfect as they get. Seek it out.

Poured into HF stemware

A-Frothy white head with some mild retention. Thick lacing that quickly runs down the side of glass. light golden hazy beer.

S-Aroma hits as soon as the growler was opened. Aroma is strong and is a precursor of things to come. Lots of sweet smelling hops. Tropical fruits. Peach, oranges, mango. some grapefruit and faint pine

T-not as sweet as the nose at least at first but may change as it warms. Peach, orange, grapefruit, lemon/lime, some bitterness. flavors really pop as there is something about the beer that makes the flavors very bright and upfront. some maltiness to keep the hops in check. Bit of a bitter finish with some lingering pine and bitterness

M-medium bodied beer with ample carbonation. leaves you with a mouthful of flavor

O-strong showing here easy to see why this breweries beers are in such high demand
