Bought fresh at the brewery 4/19/14.
Poured from the 750ml growler into a Hill Farmstead stemmed tulip.
a: Cloudy orange with an inch tall white head which receded to rocky surface foam and patterned lacing.
s: Strong citrus.
t: Orange/grapefruit under a moderate to wicked hop bite. Bitter finish mellows out somewhat later..
m: Medium, fine body. Carbonation tingle on the tongue is persistent.
o; Great as a top flight American Pale Ale or DIPA. Deliciously citrusy with 85 IBUs to let you know it means business. A new favorite for sure, another reaffirmation that it was worth all the extra driving (3 hours round trip from Waitsfield) and line standing (an hour and a quarter, which I understand is about half of normal for a Saturday!) and money ($86 for 5.75 total liters or about $5.50 per 12 ounces including $19 for bottles) to get Hill Farmstead brews. Edward's relatively low ABV could make it the best session Pale Ale in existence.
Serving type: growler
