750ml Flip top growler opened on 5.11.13
A - Pours a cloudy light orange-yellow with a foamy off-white head and good retention.
S - Lots of citrus- oranges, mango, pineapple. Great!
T - Pineapple, oranges, subtle tropical -amazingly smooth and soft on the tongue.
D - Good carbonation and a medium silky body.
O - A fruit forward, light pale with the wonderful citra hop dancing on my tongue. I loved this beer!

Served on tap at the Res in Waterbury.
Pours a hazy golden sun color with generous one finger of frothy head.
Smells fantastic, tons of citra aromatics here.
Tastes fantastic, not just one note complex.
A chewy body that also creates a soft and velvety mouthfeel.
A masterpiece APA.

On tap at Prohibition Pig. In a tulip the beer was a hazy yellow color, very pretty, with a medium-sized white head. There was a bit of lace.
Aroma was citrus and floral hops, with some sweet malt.
Grapefruit. Flowers. Bread.
Shaun Hill can certainly brew beer.

Growler filled today at DeCicco's in Ardsley NY. They have very quickly gone through two 5 gallon kegs of this one in the past 2 weeks or so. Got to get in and get some the first day its on or wait till next time...Thanks to the DeCicco's crew for hooking me up with a 32 ounce sample.
Pours heavily clouded, dull, darker tangarine, under a moderate, relaxed, tiny bubble, light tan head, that stays, then goes to real nice looking and extensive fine lacing, low loose sheeting and a moderate collar. Stuff has the look of other real fine and high quality beer offerings that you sometimes have the luck to come across and get to enjoy.
Pungent and fresh smelling, with a jolt of bitter grapefruit pith, lime, melon and general yummy citric goodness. West Coast style IPA from backwoods Vermont! Gotta get a happy feeling from a sniff of this one.
Citrus, grapefruit theme follows through on the tongue, gums and throat. A treat in the mouth, with waves of all of the above and hopped up goodness. Crusty toast notes as well.
Very enjoyable. More great beer from H.F. Gotta try to get over there for a visit next time I find myself in northern Vermont, hopefully soon. In the meantime, please keep sending kegs to better beer spots in the NYC and Westchester county areas.

Slightly cloudy light golden. Moderately-sized near-white head. Very small bubbles. Fairly sticky pale ale. Pretty and very appropriate.
Unsurprisingly, this pale ale from Hill Farmstead brewed only with Citra hops smells like fresh, vibrant, in-your-face Citra hops...which is a very, very good thing. Huge floral notes, melon, freshly cut grass, and a sweet, earthy character come to mind. Hop forward and quite delightful.
The flavor is quite similar to the aroma, with huge amounts of Citra and just the faintest malt backbone making up the entire flavor profile. While this is simple and straightforward, the ingredients used are some of my favorites. Floral notes, honeydew and cantaloupe melon, mild citrus, a little bit of earthy, rustic bread combine for an exceptional single-hopped pale pale. Lovely.
Medium bodied with a creamy carbonation. Exceptional.
Fantastic, as I assumed it would be. My high expectations have been met.

I tasted Hill Farmstead Citra IPA from Pinnochio's in Media, PA that now has it on-tap and available for growler fills. This is a nice beer that showcases Citra hops, but it feels a little too diminutive to be called an IPA. It's not just that the alcohol content is low, but that the hop flavor, malt character, body and impact of the beer feels a bit underwhelming. Maybe it would be better categorized as an APA because then it would really impress people--as an IPA it leaves me wanting. The Citra hops added a nice tropical fruit component to the beer, but I wanted way more.

Split a fresh 1/6 barrel with Rochefort10nh straight from the brewery. Thanks Shaun and thanks for the extras as well!
Appearance: Poured aggressively in a 20 ounce mug and wow what a sight. A hazy amber color reveals itself along with a 1/2" soapy white head. Some spotty lacing appears in the finish.
Smell: Oh yeah, bring on the grapefruit. This beers aroma is simply awesome! Additional fruit notes of orange and lemon. One of the best smelling American IPA's I've ever experienced.
Taste: Flavor of citrus and pine with a fair amount of hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: One word says it all, refreshing! Clean and crisp from start to finish. A little more carbonation and it would be flawless in the feel.
Drinkability: A perfect summer beer. Sessionable and with a ton of flavor.
