Big thanks to cparles for hooking me up with a 2-liter of this. Poured into a balloon glass, the brew appears a clouded golden yellow with pillows of frothy white head that fades slowly leaving a full wall of lace.
The aroma has plenty of citrus hoppiness that imparts an abundance of fresh fruity juiciness like grapefruit, lemon, herbs and grass. After it breaths, it gets a little cheesy, sulfuric and the hoppiness turn to that generic scent of pelletized hops crumbled in your hands.
The taste is very hoppy with an herbal bitterness that is somewhat grassy. A very dry wheaty grain or husky malt character is present before some sulfur emits and finishes with a nondescript bitterness. The freshness of this imparts that green hop pellet feel to this that is at times almost gritty and vegetative feeling.
This is light bodied and moderately carbonated. It is a very nice offering that is crisp and very easy drinking. So strange that while too cold this is really good but as it warms up, it gets kinda forgetable and mediocre. The aroma on this while cold is exceptional, the feel is great and everything else about it is mediocre to slightly above average.
Serving type: growler
