Notes/Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

Thanks csustar001 for the trade! Pours black with a quickly dissipating mocha head and decent lacing. Aroma full of coffee, dark chocolate, roasted malts with just a hint of hops. As far as taste goes, this is the most flavorful porter I've ever had! Chocolate, coffee, licorice, cinnamon, stone fruits, vanilla, just outstanding! Medium bodied with light carbonation. Super smooth and easy drinking. Overall, hype or no, this is the finest porter out there!

Bottled 03/2014

Pours jet black with a beautiful brown mocha head

Smell is a little underwhelming. Getting some toasted malts and chocolate.

Taste more than makes up for the smell. You get hit immediately with dark chocolate followed by some dark fruits and a finish that I can only describe as that which comes from drinking well water. It's a cleaner, slightly mineral/earthy taste that just doesn't come from processed city water.

Carbonation is perfect and mouthful is very silky.

All in all this is the best porter I've ever had. Can only imaging how off the charts this would be BBA. It almost reminds me of a well aged founders imperial stout lite (highest compliment I can give to a straight stout/porter as aged it's my favorite RIS). My first ever offering from HF and it did not disappoint.

500ml 2014 bottle

A- Dark roasty black with medium to medium large lacing, dark coffee in color. No legs creepin

S- Kinda bland here compared to the taste. I am getting in order-> dark fruits and fig>chocolate>malty backbone

T- Chocolate comes first followed by dark fruits and malt backbone after that. Great taste going on here. There is def a diff, haha, in taste between a well done porter and a well done stout. Lighter on taste, a little more dark fruit IMO

M- Almost perfect here, creamy; perfect amount of carb. Very well done. This might be my favorite HF offering along with BG&E (obvious that I have not conquered the HF world).

O- A terrific brew, almost perfect for a porter. Highly highly recommended.

Hill Farmstead Brewery - Everett Porter, poured into a Hill Farmstead stemmed tulip glass.

Look - Sits a dark black with a slight red hue around the edges when held up to the light. Small soapy head dissipates quickly but leaves an abundance of lacing.

Smell - Slight roasted malts prominent. Coffee. Some semisweet chocolate. Rich and inviting. Faint hops.

Taste - Rich creamy chocolate and coffee followed by a perfectly balanced roasted malt and a dash of hops.

Mouthfeel - Medium-heavy body but smooth as hell, medium carbonation. So creamy. Rests a fading tasty bitter roasted malt with coffee and chocolate. So drinkable.

Overall - Easily one of the best if not the best porters ever.
