Notes/Commercial Description:
Everett (1908-1939) was our grandfather’s brother; Hill Farmstead Brewery rests upon the land that was once home to him and his 13 siblings. In his honor, this Porter is crafted from American malted barley, English and German roasted malts, American hops, our ale yeast, and water from our well. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated. Decadent in its depth, with a complex backbone of chocolate, coffee, and malty sweetness, this is the ale that I dream to have shared with Everett.

Pale, Caramel, and Chocolate Malt, Roasted Barley, Columbus hops; Ale Yeast, and our Well Water.

A - Pours a very dark brown opaque color with nice, 2 finger, mocha colored head. Little bit of lacing along the side.

S - I could smell this when I was pouring it. It's actually just a tinge fruity in the beginning. That dark fruit, with molasses smell. Good amount of burnt coffee, plenty of roasted malts. Excellent blend.

T - Incredibly full, robust blend of dark, roasted malt, again, just a tinge of sweetness, before finishing with bitter, full, roasted coffee. That's an incredible taste. It goes from phase to phase seemlessly. Perfection.

M - Exactly what you want in a porter. Perfect mouthfeel here. It's creamy, a little thinner than a stout, and smooth.

Overall - This is it. World's best porter, and I love porters. Hill Farmstead has it. Absolutely excellent beer.

Taken from notes from a recent trip to Montreal and Vermont.

On tap at The Prohibition Pig. Pours a pitch black color with an inch of light brown head. Some lacing. The aroma is of roasted malts, dark chocolate and coffee. Maybe some hints of smoke. This beer has a nice roasted malts flavor with some bitter dark chocolate and coffee. Earthy with hints of smoke. Not much of an alcohol presence. Medium bodied with a creamy mouthfeel. Overall, damn good Porter worth seeking out.
